1976 Lancia Fulvia 1. 3 S Coupe. A six owner UK supplied right hand drive car. Recently re-commissioned after some time in storage. MOT to 14th October. tax to end of July. Mileage recorded is 54900 which cannot be proved. however the condition of the car suggests it may be correct.

The re-commissioning work has included:

New brake pads front and rear. new front flexi pipes. The discs had surface rust but have been cleaned and the car brakes well with no vibration and a good firm pedal. Hand brake adjusted and works well. Fresh oil and filter. plugs. points. condenser. rotor arm. coil. wiper blades. flexi petrol pipes. anti-freeze. Carbs stripped checked and cleaned. new fuel filter.  A full new stainless twin silencer exhaust system custom made. all new mountings. The manifold and front pipes are in good sound condition and have been removed. wire brushed and painted. It has done 200 miles since the MOT which has one advisory of nearside rear anti-roll bar bush slight play.

Mechanically:

Engine sounds and performs excellent. Very tractable for a 1300. idles nicely and pulls well through the rev range. no smoke. Oil pressure is around 55 at 3000RPM fully warm. higher with more revs. It warms up quickly. the heater works and when left idling long enough the electric fan cuts in and cools it down to fan cut off. The gearbox although typically a bit stiff from cold. once warm changes nicely. all synchromesh fine. no noises. Clutch is smooth and strong. There is no wheel bearing noise or play. Wheels are tidy and presentable. tyres are the correct 165/14 size. one new and one good Dunlop on the front. Michelins on the rear. good tread but starting to show their age.

Body:

It appears the car has been well rust proofed from new. There's evidence of welding repairs to the usual jacking points and subframe out riggers. these have been done to a good standard and coated in black waxoyl. Inner wings and boot floor are original and solid. I had the carpets out for cleaning and the inner floor. sills etc are solid and original.

It has had a colour change from green to red. (The reg doc states red). This appears to have been done quite some time ago and has lasted very well. All external panel work is very solid. with no rust bubbles or swelling. very good wheel arches with no filler. what looks to be the original sills. Internal paintwork on the door casings around lock/hinge areas is not great. Door handles are pitted. mirror is tarnished but the rest of the brightwork is very good. Obviously it's picked up a few marks over the years. nothing requiring immediate attention and it is still a very smart presentable car.

Interior:

It's lost its back seat at some time! Rear floor and bulkhead is tidily trimmed and carpeted. Front seats are dark grey leather. although not original suit the car well and are in nice condition. Carpets are dark green. tidy and clean. The cloth part of the door trims in particular on the passenger's side have sagged. would easily re-trim in black vinyl. Steering wheel. dash. headcloth. centre console and instruments are in nice condition. All instruments and warning lights work as they should other than the fuel gauge has a mind of its own. sometimes working. sometimes not. I've never investigated. The stereo is in to fill the whole. not connected. One of the heater slider knobs is missing and the temp control slider has only just become detached from the cable behind. not an immediate issue as the cable leads to a valve inside the car which can be moved easily by hand.

Overall a very nice usable car. requiring no immediate attention other than those minor issues noted above. Great fun to drive. surprisingly smooth. rattle free. reasonably quiet. the exhaust note is just right. it can be used and improved. It's ready to enjoy. Part exchange considered. something interesting. car or motorcycle. unfinished project?
