Unfortunately it has come the time when I am having to sell my pride and joy as I am now in need of something more practical.
Up for sale is a 1982 Mk1 Golf which has a 1. 8t 20v engine conversion (registered as 1781cc on logbook)

The previous owner bought it as a standard red 1. 1 and stripped it back and resprayed it Alpine White.
The 1. 8t 20v engine had 82k miles when fitted and is managed by a Qpeng ECU which cost over £1000!
Car has 6 months TAX. MOT runs out end of this month but it will pass no problem.

I will list what has been done. but I will probably forget things!
Porsche GT3 Carbon fibre bucket seats (£1250)
OZ Turbo split rims with Toyo Proxes tyres. all in great condition (6mm+) (maybe £1000 worth)
JOM Coilovers (£200)
Momo deep dish steering wheel (£100)
Jetex Stainless exhaust system (£350)
Qpeng custom stainless downpipe (decat) (£180)
Pipercross carbon fibre induction kit (£70)
Front mount intercooler (£100+)
Baileys dump valve (as the engine is run off aftermarket ecu it uses a MAP sensor instead of the standard MAF sensor so the dump valve does not cause any problems) (£40)
Slimline radiator fan (£70)
Oversized G60 front brakes. calipers painted red. nbsp;
EBC greenstuff brake pads (£50)
Braided brake hoses. nbsp;
Larger Mk2 brake servo. nbsp;
Short front and rear bumpers
Blue hoses under the bonnet (£50+)
Boost/Oil temp/Oil pressure gauges (temp not wired up yet but have the sensor) (£100)
Bosch 044 fuel pump (capable of 500+hp) (£150)
GTI clocks (reading 141k but the previous owner claimed the original clocks read 93k~)
Polished stainless steel dash air vents (£25)
Chrome side trims (£80)
Smoothed boot. nbsp;
Eibach camber shims in rear (-3. 55 degrees). nbsp;
Custom gear knob. nbsp;
Bosch wiper blades. nbsp;
Hella headlamps (£50)
Xenon Ultima headlight bulbs (£15)
Pressed metal number plates (£30)
Front Duckbill spoiler (£20)
Rear arch stone protectors (not yet fitted but will include in sale) (£35)
Chrome door handles. nbsp;
Campaign fuel cap with key. /span>

When stripping and rebuilding this car the previous owner installed sound deadening. new carpet. all the brake lines and fuel lines were new. door seals. window seals and boot seal were all new. Bushes. bottom arms. links. mounts etc were all replaced/new.

The car is using a AGU engine as it has the larger valve ports in the head. meaning more air flow. It is matched to a 5 speed 02j gearbox with a single mass flywheel. and also uses a matching 02j shifter (engine. gearbox and shifter are all from a mk4 golf). Because of this. gear changes are effortless and feel like a much newer car.

Recently the car has had a new VR6 heavy duty clutch (£100). Continental cambelt and waterpump kit (£220 inc fitting). NGK spark plugs. a new radiator. new oil filters coolant etc. I have receipts for everything.

The folder of receipts I have is packed. totaling maybe £10. 00 between the previous owner and I.

When I got the car. under the bonnet was done to a mediocre standard so I took it to my local performance garage and spent almost £1000 having them do everything properly.

The car is running about 200-220hp (standard k03 turbo) and as the car is very light this makes for a very fast car. This is certainly not a toy and has embarrassed VXR's. Cupra's. ST's etc. It would be an easy upgrade to the bigger K04 turbo. which would raise power levels to around the 280hp mark but I never felt the need to do this!

As well as being quick it's also good on fuel. averaging about 30-35mpg!

It does occasionally bog and hesitate. and I am 99% sure this is because the coilpacks are failing. This is a cheap and easy replacement. the parts can be bought off here - is a common problem on these 20vt engines. Also a few cosmetic marks here and there. nothing major or anything that can't be touched up.

This car owes me a lot of money and I know I will not get back what I paid but I need something more practical and it seems a shame to just use this for a daily commuter!

I am at University currently but from 5th April I will be home for Easter for two weeks. Unfortunately this is the soonest I am available for viewings and collection will have to be within this period (6th to around 20th April).
