I have built and owned this car for 35 years. It was built by me in 1978 and 1979. I restored the car again in 2004. It was appraised in 2004 for $15. 00. I am only trying to sell it to finish a new project I now have. Although I would like to keep it. my funds and space are limited and therefor require me to part with one of my babies. I have enjoyed this car for 35 years and just feel my interests have changed to my new project and hope to enjoy "it". for the next 35 years. (if I live that long) As stated above. this car has a 10 year old restoration and was built and restored by me in my garage with basic tools. I am not a professional car builder so this car is not perfect. This car has won a trophy at just about every show I have taken it to. The only area that has never been finished is under the front hood. It will come with a tow bar and many extra parts I have collected through the years. It is due a couple of front tires. I would be willing to deliver the car. This can be discussed with me prior to sale. Below is a detailed description of the car I did for the appraisal co. 10 years ago and nothing has changed since. except the age. Please call me with any questions. A $500. 00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit will be required at the end of auction. Remaining funds to be paid in full by cash or cashiers check and cleared by bank before car is delivered or released.

The interior has 1972 VW high back bucket seats with retractable shoulder and seat belts. Seats are burgundy velour with gray centers. Door panels are gray with burgundy stripes and custom chrome door handles. Carpet is also burgundy in color and sun visors are gray velour. Look up and the head liner is a custom hand made latch-hook carpet of the truck. Behind the seats. under the truck bed. is a carpeted storage area. The steering wheel and gear shift leaver are chrome chain links. Gauge cluster consists of the stock vw speedo and fuel gauge and an Empi tach. oil pressure and volt meter. The stereo is an older Jenson AM-FM cassette with a Northstar 120 watt power booster and equalizer. The 120 watt Craig speakers unplug from inside and can be plugged in on the back of the truck bed.

The transmission and rear suspension has been updated to the more modern IRS suspension. The rebuilt transmission had a Super Diff installed along with more modern 70's highway gearing. All rear end parts were sand blasted and epoxy painted with satin black. Suspension upgrade has resulted in a much smoother ride.

The power plant of this truck is a built from scratch 1776cc VW engine. A new aluminum case was used with deep sump added and  drilled out for free flow oil system. A red finned pulley cover and red sparkplug wires add a touch of color to the engine. The engine is surrounded by a polished aluminum diamond plate firewall. The final touch was to install a ruby red neon light kit above the engine so at night with lights turned on the engine compartment glows red.
