1965 Austin Healey Sebring Sprite Replica

We have great pleasure in bringing to the market this freshly constructed John Sprinzel Sebring Sprite Replica.

Commissioned as a Ground Up Nut & Bolt rebuild by a Private Collector the vehicle was professionally constructed from a 1965 MG Midget and using a full "Archers Garage" Sebring Conversion Body-kit this beautiful car is an accurate replica of the iconic Sebring Sprite.

The Sprinzel Sebring Sprite Coupe was introduced to the world at the London Racing Car Show in January 1961 and whilst only 6 examples were produced - 2 of the cars were raced at Sebring in 1961 in the Hands of Pat & Stirling Moss enhancing the marques pedigree. During the period many body variants of the Sprite were produced to give racing advantage but none are revered as being as Iconic as John Sprinzels design.

Archers Garage located at Oldbury Nr Birmingham have been long associated with British Sports Cars and re-created the Sprinzel pretty streamlined hardtop and bonnet in the early nineties from an original Sprinzel Car and incidently are the only company to have gained John Sprinzels approval.

This particular car was created from a donor 1965 MG Midget which was completely stripped by Severn Classics. The body Tub was shotblasted and any repairs effected before the body kit was fitted and the bodyshell was painted by "Body Beautiful" in Shropshire ( re-nouned for there Jaguar Restoration Paintwork ). The prepared Bodyshell was painted in Jaguar Opalescent Gunmetal Grey and has been professionally trimmed with Bordeaux Wilton Carpets and the New Period Seats covered in Fluted Bordeaux Red Leather. The Bodyshell is fitted with an FIA Roll Cage to complete the Racing Look along with the 15" Alloy Wood Rimmed Steering Wheel.

The Engine is a period 1275cc A series Unit which has been fully rebuilt and is painted in the correct period BMC Green. running refurbished twin SU Carburettors and fitted with a new clutch. the engine fires up readily and runs smoothly with perfect oil pressure and an impressive turn of speed and pace.

Running Steel Painted Wire wheels the Car is fitted with Radial Tyres as a sensible upgrade and although not legally required the seat belt harnesses complete the "Goodwood" feel.

Having viewed a number of Sebring Replicas I can say with conviction that this example is the best I have seen and has been constructed to a high standard throughout.

The vehicle is offered today. ready for a lucky new owner to enjoy at a price which is below cost of construction.

Supplied with a History File containing a photographic record of the build and a specification sheet supplied by Severn Classics detailing the work and the subcontractors used to complete the project along with a full Experian Auto-Data Report and 2 sets of Keys.

The Car will be supplied with a New MOT prior to delivery.

The Vehicle qualifies as a Historic Vehicle so Road Fund Licence is Free of Charge.

We are happy to consider Part Exchanges and can assist with quoting for delivery both nationally and Internationally.
