This auction is for a 1958 Edsel Citation Convertible. This car was used by the Edsel car company as a display in introducing the Edsel to the public as a SHOW CAR. The buck build tag on the firewall of the car is stamped as SHOW CAR. The number on the buck tag matches the Vin number. frame number and title. I purchased this car 5 years ago from the 2nd owner. The 2nd owner had this car in inside storage for 40 years. I have since had this car in inside storage for 5 years. During this time I have started restoration of it. It does run and sound very sweet. drives and shifts great. The brakes have been redone and stops quite nicely. Teletouch also works nice.  The engine does have a rear main seal leak.

Very early in this car's life it had an accident where the right rear quarter panel was damaged. I didn't like all the bondo in it so I replaced it with a solid straight quarter panel from Arizona. The gaps are perfect! As you can see from the pictures it is still in black primer. The moldings are taped on for pictures to show the car is complete.   The right side quarter panel has some rust around the wheel. and this is the worst part of the whole car. I am including in this auction a perfect solid straight right quarter panel section and wheelhouse to make the repair. As you can see from the pictures the floors are very solid and not rusted ever.  I left the carpeting out to show for pictures. but brand new carpeting is included and shown in pictures. I had a brand new interior made and is still wrapped up in clear plastic. The interior is set in place for pictures to show it is complete. I have some extra material left over from the upholstery shop that is also included in case you ever need repairs on it.

I believe this is the original top since the under side is white as the factory did it rather than black as in the aftermarket tops. The top should be replaced as it is showing wear and starting to pull away. The rear plastic window is terrible and lying in the well area. The rear plastic window comes with the new top when you order it.

The paint on this car is mostly original and still has a beautiful shine. It has some minor dings. scratches and minor rust spots. so the car will need a complete paint job. The chrome is still nice for an everyday driver. but should be rechromed for show. All the glass is perfect and original with all correct date codes for this car.

This car has a lot of factory options such as power windows. power seats. tachometer. town and country radio. power brakes. power antenna (needs repair. but have all the parts). nbsp; spinner hub caps. nbsp;and the hard to find XR49 power steering. which is amazingly easy to steer.

In the trunk I have the rest of the parts needed to finish putting this car back together which even includes new hardware. Also which is not shown in pictures are new trunk cardboards still wrapped in plastic. A lot of other extra parts are also included in the trunk. I am probably overlooking some of its great qualities. but then I'm getting old. It has all the hard to find items and parts. so the rest of the restoration will be easy.

This car is a one of a kind FACTORY SHOW CAR Citation convertible. A true investment.

I will be out of town Tuesday through Thursday. and will answer any questions when I return. Or you can call me on my cell phone 414-640-4810 for questions.

Buyer must arrange for transport of this car. It hasn't been driven since 2012. so I wouldn't advise driving it far until checked over again. Engine last ran in the fall of 2013 when putting it away.  Payment must be made in full within 7 days of auctions end.
