Mk1 Replica Tax Exempt Classic Mini

Well. it breaks my heart to place this advert but here we go.

Here we have for sale my tax exempt mk1 cooper replica finished in tartan red with a black roof. This is probably one of the straightest and best restored shells you will come across. This car underwent a bare shell. back to the metal restoration in 2009 by the previous owner who was. and as far as i know still is a professional car body restorer working for 'TR Bitz' in Lymm. The car was stripped back to bare metal and all traces of rust were removed prior to a full professional respray at 'TR Bitz'. Since I purchased the car. it has always been garaged. I don't even take it out if it's raining. The car is wet in the photos because I washed it just before taking these photos.

Here's the spec of the car:-

Engine and exhaust:- 1275cc a+ engine. The head is an mg metro one. The ports were slightly polished in 2011 and new phosphor bronze valve guides were put in as well as lapping the valves in and fitting new valve stem seals. The head has also been fitted with 1. 5 ratio mini spares roller rockers in 2011. Brand new water pump fitted at the same time as the head work. Engine coupled to maniflow exhaust manifold and stainless steel RC40 side exit exhaust. DNS classic's rose jointed top engine steady. Kenlowe thermostatically controlled electric fan.

Body:- bare metal restoration shell with mk1 lights conversion fitted. Mk1 bootlid and mk1 bonnet. Shell is in absolutely mint condition. Brand new a panels fitted before being sprayed in tartan red with a black roof. Stainless steel wheel arches fitted but i also have a brand new set of gp2 fiberglass arches which will be available with the car. These have already been painted in gloss black. Lucas reversing lamp on bootlid. Cooper badges fitted to front and rear. Mk1 moustache and stainless steel 7 slat grille. I believe that this car was re-shelled at some stage in it's life by a previous owner.

Suspension and brakes:- hi-lo's all round. Heavy duty adjustable bottom arms and heavy duty tie rods. Almost certain that the dampers are koni ones. 7. 5" cooper s disks fitted and brand new AP front calipers in 2011. Braided stainless steel flexible hoses from body to calipers on front. Front just fitted with Mintex 1144 pads.

Wheels and tyres:- 10"x6" Ultralite wheels fitted brand new in 2011 fitted with 4 Yokohama A008 tyres which have covered less than 300 miles since being fitted.

Interior:- black 1/2 leather effect seats with red piping. Walnut dash. Brand new Sony CD player with audio in connection fitted in 2010. Mountney steering wheel.

This is an absolutely mint car which turns heads wherever it goes. It is tax exempt. The V5 is present and in my name. It is MOT'd until the 31st of May.

The only negative things about this car is as follows:- the chrome bullet shaped door mirrors were a fairly cheap purchase and the chrome has rusted (see photo). The age old saying of buy cheap. buy twice is true. There is some flaking of the paint on the trim that goes on top of the seam between the a panel and the wing. It looks like the paint has not taken. It has superficial surface rust here but is an easy fix (again. see photo). It has an oil leak. but show me a mini that doesn't.

This car is offered only as a classified. I am not interested in haggling and i would urge any potential buyer to first come and see the car before buying. I have tried to be as honest as i can with this listing but ultimately. it is your responsibility to view the car yourself before committing to buying. The car is located in Anglesey in North Wales.
