1970 Plymouth Barracuda 440 4speed for sale
Current customer rating: (332 votes ) based onFor sale by owner of nearly 20 years. I know every inch of this car. nbsp; and will do my best to describe it:
General Condition: solid #3 car. nbsp; great looking driver. nbsp; no rust southern car. nbsp; no wrecks. nbsp; kept in heated garage. nbsp; a thrill to drive.
(Note: the VIN this car shows it was originally a Barracuda Gran Coupe 318 automatic. )
Body. Paint. Trim: Alpine white basecoat/clearcoat sprayed 10 years ago. nbsp; still looks great- straight. no dents. bubbles dings or scratches. All original sheetmetal except lower quarters and main trunk floor. Original AAR hood is showing its age. nbsp; but is not warped. Glass is all original (factory tinted). nbsp; but has some scratches and a small circular mark in the front. Original bumpers have been rechromed. Stainless trim and grill in good shape. nbsp; Dr. side turn signal has small corner broken off.
Drivetrain: 1970 440. nbsp; Pistol-grip 4 speed. nbsp; 4:10 suregrip. Engine has been upgraded but still looks somewhat original and very driveable for family outings etc. (idles well. nbsp; never overheats even above 90F).
Engine upgrades: 10. 5:1 quench pistons (93 octane no additive). nbsp; 906 heads ported & flowed. nbsp; 2. 14/1. 81 valves. Mopar purple shaft cam solid lifter 0. 528 lift. nbsp; M1 intake. nbsp; 850dp Holley. MSD ignition (under dash).
Transmission: A833 4 speed trans. nbsp; clutch pedal and linkage was swapped from a donor car for the original automatic. Looks factory original. The correct 4 speed tunnel & molded carpet has not been installed (a relatively easy fix w/ available aftermarket parts).
Suspension: Upgraded Hemi torsion bars. nbsp; XHD rear leaf springs. nbsp; gas shocks. nbsp; aftermarket front sway bar. nbsp; all new ball joints and bushings. Handles pretty well for a big block Ebody.
Brakes: Upgraded front disc brakes using all NOS parts. nbsp; all new lines. nbsp; master cylinder.
Interior: Excellent dash pad with no cracks. rally gage cluster (8000 rpm tach / 150 mph speedo). nbsp; Tuff wheel. nbsp; aftermarket fresh air blower motor (original AC unit/heater long gone). New weatherstripping. Issues with the interior include: tach. radio. clock nonfunctional; seats are discolored with small tear; plastic interior panels are worn/damaged/paint wearing off in places; seat belts are frayed in places; rear 1/4 window cranks are missing.
Note: original mileage unknown. driven less than 10. 00 miles as owner
