Triumph Stag 1976

1976 Triumph Stag in good condition. Original Triumph motor runs well. Oversize radiator and electric cooling fan. Has always started easily since I have owned the car over the last 3-4 years. I replaced the timing chains and tensioners and front shocks when I purchased the car. The car has always been garaged by me and the previous owner and does not get used in wet weather. I have also added rear seat belts for my children as I have used this as a family classic. I have 2 large files of work from previous owners with lots of work done. It looks like the boot floor has been replaced(see photos) and underneath the car is a solid floor. It looks like there has been some welding on the drivers floor at some point in it's life as work has been done on the car.
My local mechanic inspected the car when I purchased it and he commented that a lot of work had been undertaken on the car and it appears to be solid. I have also shown that the passenger door bottom has some surface rust and flaking and a bubble about half the size of a 1 pence coin on the top of the passenger sill  where the front guard comes into the sill.
The interior is tidy. The back seat is very good as is the soft top cover. The passenger seat has a small hole and a split (see photo). The drivers seat has a new cover.  Carpets are tidy. Everything works inside the car with the exception that the heater fan and demister works but does not give heat.
Soft top is very good. The frame is also good with the exception that there is one crack on the frame as shown.  This has been here since I have owned the car but does not effect the use of the softop. I suspect it could be welded easily.
Chrome is solid but there is some pitting on the rear bumper. It is very tidy and shiny but has small pits. Tyres are good and wheels are also good. Body paint is tidy and has a nice gloss.
Hardtop comes with the car - it is solid but needs work. The headlining is ripped. the front and rear bottom chrome trim is missing. a fastener is missing and there is some surface rust. Glass is good and present.
I use the car regularly weather permitting and it has been very reliable and it is serviced locally.
This has been a good fun family car. It is a good usable Stag but it is not a show car and there is opportunity to add your own touch and add value to the car. It has always got it's MOT first time and is current until November 2014. It is also taxed until August 2014.  
Please note it is an old car so please inspect before bidding to form your own judgement on the car. It is ready to go for spring/summer. Pick up only once funds are cleared.
