THE AUTO ELITE GROUP IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE 1970 JAGUAR XKE SERIES II ROADSTER. THIS ICONIC JAGUAR WAS FRESHLY RESTORED TO ITS FORMER FACTORY FRESH CONDITION. THIS E-TYPE IS KNOWN TO BE ONE OF THE FINEST SERIES II E-TYPES AVAILABLE. THIS E-TYPE WAS SHIPPED FROM COVENTRY. ENGLAND AND RESIDED IN CALIFORNIA FOR MOST OF IT’S LIFE. IT WAS THEN PURCHASED FRESHLY RESTORED IN 2010 FROM CALIFORNIA. MADE ITS WAY DOWN TO PALM BEACH INTO A PRIVATE COLLECTION. THIS IS A RUST FREE. NUMBERS MATCHING JAGUAR THAT WENT THROUGH A METICULOUS GROUND UP. NUT AND BOLT RESTORATION. THE RESTORATION’S END RESULT WAS TO MAINTAIN THE ORIGINAL INTEGRITY OF THE XKE AND BRING IT BACK TO FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. THERE WAS NO EXPENSE SPARED ON THIS RESTORATION.

THIS JAGUAR XKE SERIES II POWERED BY THE 4. 2 LITER INLINE 6 CYLINDER ENGINE. WITH TWIN STROMBERG CARBURETORS. THE TRANSMISSION  IS A MANUAL 4 SPEED.

THE XKE IS FINISHED IN IT’S ORIGINAL OLD ENGLISH WHITE WITH BLACK CONOLLY HIDES AND CORRECT BLACK VINYL CONVERTIBLE TOP.  WITH ALL NUMBER’S MATCHING. THIS IS AS AN ORIGINAL E-TYPE AS YOU CAN FIND. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD ACQUIRED THE JAGUAR IN 1975 (AS THE SECOND OWNER) WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE ON THE CLOCK AND HE OWNED THE CAR UNTIL 2010. AS YOU SEE IN OUR PICTURES AND EXTENSIVE DOCUMENTATION THIS JAGUAR HAS BEEN IMMACULATELY AND CAREFULLY RESTORED. AS A MATTER OF FACT THE HERALDED ILLUSTRATED SERIES II PARTS MANUAL AND RESTORATION GUIDE WAS BASED AND DEVELOPED AROUND THIS SPECIFIC JAGUAR. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A SUPERB E-TYPE ROADSTER THAT IS DESERVING OF ANY COLLECTOR. THE JAGUAR RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE A DREAM.

The XKE Series 2 (1968–1971)

-

Hallmarks of Series 2 cars are open headlights without glass covers. a wrap-around rear bumper. re-positioned and larger front indicators and tail lights below the bumpers. better cooling aided by an enlarged "mouth" and twin electric fans. and upgraded brakes. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a more industrial "ribbed" appearance. It was de-tuned in the US with twin Strombergs and larger valve clearances. but in the UK retained triple SUs and the much tighter valve clearances. (Late Series 1½ cars also had ribbed cam covers). The interior and dashboard were also redesigned; rocker switches that met US health and safety regulations were substituted for toggle switches. The dashboard switches also lost their symmetrical layout. New seats were fitted. which purists claim lacked the style of the originals but were certainly more comfortable.

SINCE THE RESTORATION OF THIS E-TYPE IT HAS SEEN ONLY 2. 20 GENTLY DRIVEN MILES. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD DRIVEN IT FOR 1990 MILES IN CALIFORNIA AND IT HAS ONLY SEEN 210 MILES IN FLORIDA. IT HAS BEEN DETAILED AND STARTED WEEKLY. AND IS HAS BEEN STORED IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED GARAGE. THE JAGUAR HAS ALSO BEEN SERVICED LIKE CLOCKWORK WITH THE FLUIDS BEING CHANGED LIKE CLOCKWORK.

THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN DENTED AS REVEALED DURING THE RESTORATION PROCESS. THE PAINT HAS A DEEP SHOWROOM SHINE THAT IS BLEMISH FREE. THERE ARE NO MAJOR SRATCHES OR DENTS IN THE PAINT. THE CAR IS AS STRAIGHT IF NOT STRAIGHTER THAN WHEN IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY. THE CHROME PIECES ARE ALL ORIGINAL AND HAVE BEEN REPLATED TO SHOW QUALITY. THE NEW WIRE WHEELS ARE IMMACULATE AND CAN ACCOMMODATE MODERN TIRE SIZES. WE ALSO HAVE A FULL SET OF KNOCK OFFS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN INSTALLED AND COME WITH THE CAR.
