For sale is a 1959 Peugeot 403 sedan.
It starts. uns and drives well.
The motor was rebuilt around 4000 miles ago. the clutch was replaced at that time. The motor does not smoke. however there is a tiny oil leak at the rear main seal. In the last 12 months I have driven the car about twice a month and the oil is down less than 1/4 quart.
The motor is from a 1965 Peugeot 403 which is the exact same motor as the 1959 403. The carburetor (Solex) and the battery are both new. The fuel pump is new as well.
The transmission shifts well. The rear end has the typical Peugeot 403 whine which has not changed in the 4 years that I have owned the car. The steering is tight with no slop and the car tracks well when driving. The brakes are in good condition and stop the car well.
The car was painted 5 years ago. the color is a factory blue.
The interior is not original. it was taken from a 2003 Honda Accord. it fits and looks great. It is very comfortable.
I have driven the car on the freeway for several hundred miles in the summer with no problems whatsoever.
The body is in good condition with no rust. The doors and windows and sunroof all operate well. However the drivers side door does not fit perfectly.
I installed an under dash cd/radio with speakers under the front seats. No cutting of the dash was needed for this install.
The heater and blower work as does the odometer and clock and all of the lights.
I can take the car to a Mechanic/ shop of your choice in the Port Townsend area for an inspection if you want to pay for it.
