RUBY IS NOW SOLD. Left on ebay so that the 151 watchers can see that they are too late.

This is Ruby.   Reluctantly owing to illness I am having to sell her.

She is a rarity these days in that she is still unrestored but importantly almost totally rust free. This was due to the care and attention she received in the early days with ample supplies of underseal applied to every orifice you can think of.   This has meant that she has remained unrestored and is a bit of a timewarp vehicle.   You will understand that 47 years of driving has meant that her paintwork. although still more than acceptable. when closely examined does need an external respray due to the various touch ups from knocks and scratches over the years of reliable service. I have been reluctant to do this as she is still considered original.   What I have done is replace the underseal where I considered it 'over the top' and replaced with a protective coating and top coat. This includes the engine bay and underside of bonnet.   There is still areas to complete on the underside of doors where the top colour covering needs to be completed (sorry! - can't do it now).

Engine/Gearbox:  Very reliable. No oil loss aprt from the standard Triumph occasional drip. Check out my drip tray to see how little this is.  Runs at normal oil pressure of 65-70. Original engine and gearbox. New engine mounts fitted.   Lead Additive used with unleaded petrol.

Clutch:  Smooth - no crunching. Master cylinder - no leaks.

Cooling/Heating:  New radiator hoses and clips. Uses no water and drives at normal operating temperature of 70.  Heater and blower work with no fluid leaks.

Fuel System:  Single Solex B30 PSE1 - balanced beautifully - starts on choke and ticks over. Vacuum gauge fitted on dash to check performance - hence no vacuum loss. New genuine sleeve from carb to air box sourced and fitted. Black lockable fuel cap. Fuel tank rust free. Fuel pump works fine.   In-line chrome fuel filter fitted (easy clean and smarter).

Exhaust:  No leaks at manifold - appears ok with the normal discolouration. A tailpipe embellisher fitted (can be removed).

Suspension:  All ok - runs straight and level with no wheel wobbles.

Wheels/Tyres:  Steel wheels repainted to match original 'Dunlop white' in boot.   New hub caps (insides rust-proofed before fitting). Original 'Empire Made' wheel trims sourced (these were dealer options).   Radial tyres in  good condition with loads of tread but must be getting a bit old. so if a lot of miles going to be done I would be thinking of new tyres.

Brakes:  Drum brakes - checked and have plenty of useage left in shoes - Powerstop brake servo fitted plus new braided hoses (front and rear) - stops very well!

Steering:  All ok - no wear - Sports steering wheel fitted for more comfort (original wheel can be supplied as alternative - buyers choice)

Electrical:  All basics checked and performing well - headlamps (original Lucas sealed beam). side. tail. reversing and rear fog - all working ok. Small side repeaters fitted  on front wings in distant past.   Comes with pair of front 'Mini' driving lamps (can remove at buyers request). All lens covers and gaskets ok.   Dash and column switches and stalks all work ok. Comes with extra headlamp flasher. electrical washer pump (Dolomite). emergency flasher switch and immobiliser.   Two sets of keys.

Chassis:  undersealed and solid says my MOT garage.

Body Panels:  All original apart from new sills.   Seals to boot lid. bulkhead. doors. nbsp; A posts and wheelarch renewed so no water leaking into boot area etc.

Interior Trim:  Black carpets fitted 3 years ago. Set of overmats used since. New boot carpet fitted (over original. plus underlay and original factory plastic coating!). New door cards fitted. Black vinyl seats are in good condition - no rips or marks - BUT note: drivers seat has sets of small holes drilled in it to allow for moisture release ( does not detract from appearance). Headlining is basically ok. some discolouration BUT note: a patch of material (from Newton Commercial) has been stuck over damaged piece above rear window. Original grey Britax seat belts - these are worth a fortune! Dashboard mods made due to extra switches and dials - including water/oil pressure gauge as well as the vacuum gauge. headlamp flasher and windscreen washer flick switches.

The Triumph Sports Six Club Valuation Certificate when purchased (before improvements) had conditions A1 on all sections except paintwork which was A1- and car was valued at that time at £2. 00.   A lot of improvements made since so £2. 50 is well under the current valuation.

Over £1. 00 of cosmetic improvements made in last 3 years.

Boxes of useful spares/service items included in price.
