1973 JAGUAR E-Type XKE Series 3 V12 Roadster 23,000 miles

Delivered new on the 24th August 1973. this Series 3 V12 E-Type Roadster was supplied by authorised Jaguar agent; The Reigate Garage Limited. As denoted in the original JAGUAR PASSPORT TO SERVICE (service booklet) the first registered owner was A. J. Percy (Builders) Ltd of Reigate. Surrey. It is not known for how long Percy's retained the car but by August 1976 it was in the hands of well known dealer Hexagon of Highgate and. as identified in the original sales ledger. they sold the car to the third owner; Mr P. J. Murphy of Finchley for £4. 95.

Mr Murphy retained the car until October 2011 when it was sold to a Mr Tovey from Watford and he undertook a series of light restorative works including a full respray and new hood before the current keeper acquired the car earlier this year via Vintage & Prestige in Hemel Hempstead.

Since purchase it has benefitted from a thorough service by highly regarded specialists Sigma Engineering to the tune of £4. 63. 68 and works included a brake system overhaul. suspension bush replacement. coolant flush and header tank replacement and a full service and set up on the rolling road.

Amazingly and largely thanks to the 35 year ownership stint with Mr Murphy this highly original E-Type roadster displays just over 23. 00 miles on the odometer and this is accounted for by the service book and the MOTs on file. a summary of which is below;

Whilst the paint and hood had deteriorated to the point of requiring renewal. thankfully the original interior has survived very well indeed and is the real centre point of this charming example.
