I am not sure how to describe the unbelievabble amount of detail that went into building this car. but the full restoration. completed about 1 year ago. is documented in about 25 pages of detailed receipts and descriptions of work done by the specialists involved. The goal was a beautiful red TR-3A TO DRIVE. as well as show at club events but to be faithful to how Triumph built them. and to use genuine parts everywhere yet acheive super reliability and performance as well as comfort and safety without compromise. I cant go into every detail here so please email your questions and look at the pictures. I started with a great California car which had a small rust area in both floor pans only near the footwell. and repaired that after removing the body from the chassis for stripping. There is NO RUST anywhere on body or chassis. The entire suspension was completely rebuilt using the best available parts from Roadster Factory and Moss. with new trunnions and every conceivable part. bushing and ssuspension component. Calipers were rebuilt by Centric. new rotors used and all brake lines. cylinders. hoses replaced. The engine was rebuilt with new pistons and liners. all new bearings and oil pump. water pump. head had all valves replaced etc. Rebuilt and rebushed shafts in the SU carbs. and a brand new complete wiring harness to correctly rebuilt components like statrter. distributor (rebushed and overhauled) new correct radiator core with hole for the starter crank and an electric fan added just for security. Car does not run warm and I rarely use it unless its a100 degree L. A. day and I am stuck in traffic. We did a professionally rebuilt wiper motor and rack. All gauges rebuilt and work perfectly. even the odometer. No disappointments in the car mechanically. Rebuilt later synchro four speed gearbox . all new clutch components. u joints etc. Look at the details in the engine room. No aftermarket junk parts and everything is new. Fresh top of the line Bosch battery (awaiting a LUCAS sticker?)To the body we gave a complete driver quality repaint in Triumphs signal red. Its a good paint job but not show quality and it has been out and about but shows a minimum of tiny chips and wear. Car really presents nicely. A pleasant patina of originality remains as we used a superb original grille and all original front and rear bumpers and guards. as well as all the badges which look great. The road wheels were stripped. balanced and trued then painted and fitted with a new set of correct period Michelin radials. For the interior. where the driver lives. no expense was spared. The dash was retrimmed correctly and the gauge panel rebuilt and restored with the correct finish then all rebuilt gauges were fitted with all new switches and knobs. The horn and indicator in the steering wheel were replaced with the expensive superb Roadster Factory new unit. and new door pockets were installed to the new interior throughout. The seats got very special attention with correct new bases for comfort. and all new foam backs then GENUINE LEATHER correctly done and all other trim done to match with a complete recarpet. including new back deck and trunk boards and recarpeted the full trunk with trimmed edged carpeting. New shifter and brake boots and a perfect brake handle complete a really delightful interior. The complex windshield had to be done correctly by a top specialist and nearly all these parts were rechromed and a new windshield fitted with all new rubber to the glass and the body. Check any TR3 you look at carefully as this is expensive work that must be done right. It shows beautifully and you see perfectly through fresh glass and working wipers!. Had to cap it off with rebuilt top bows and a new top fitted with all new correct fasteners front and rear. (Beware shops who have used boat hardware and damged the car with it. ) A snug and tight top with no wrinkles and fresh clear windows. nbsp;it completes the picture. A boot cover is included for top down use. I do not have a tonneau and the side curtains need rebuilding but are included as is the original tools and crank. To drive the car is to fall in love. It starts on a pull of the button and purrs beautifully. Performance and handling are excellent. I would not hesitate to make this a cross country adventure as this car is ready to go in every way. There is left two small items for the new owner as I did not yet fit the fender bead (included. and probably a one or two hour job) or the fuzzy windlace for the doors as its available in beige or black and we couldnt decide (but I think black). Thats a ten minute job . All of the plumbing for a heater was installed new but few Californian TR3's came with them. I will provide the factory type heater unit I sourced and a core I have had checked out and cleaned that should be good for it. The car also has the incredibly rare ashtray in perfect condition ( I dont smoke but its way cool). OK why sell this jewel? I have enjoyed the process of building this great car and enjoyed it now for about three years. one year in its completed condition. I have also been building a TR250 and a TR4A and will eventually get down to one Triumph but not sure which one. Its just that I love the Michelotti body the most. Check my feedback and who I am. 14 years of honest selling on Ebay including occasionally letting one of my Triumph go to a good home and I have references of how happy those Triumph owners are. Any of them would be happy to speak to a potential bidder about the kind of work I have done on my cars. I am a past President of the Vintage Triumph chapter in Southern California and I have used only the best specialists and shops to help me. There is room for more detailing to make this car a stunning show car. but there is nothing left to do to make it a fantastic driver with comfort. class. and originality. I would rather drive it than show it but you'll win doing both. Grab this amazing car. This IS THE ONE you have waited for! No gaming. no ending early or for sale elsewhere. The high bidder owns this I am sure for far less than I have spent and it will be one for the ages that will last and be a joy to own. not a constant nagging headache when they have not been done right. Get a good one. Good Luck. Any knowledgeable inspector is welcome with notice. during the auction not after. Thanks.
