COLLECTOR CAR PRICES UP 10 PERCENT From our friends at Cars on Line.

After pouring over the results from the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction last week we realized that collector car prices have surpassed 2008 levels and are actually setting new highs. The average values of cars most often traded in the collector car hobby are up 10 percent over prices paid for those cars in 2008. the last big year for collector cars before the economic recession. Our numbers are based on average prices paid at this year's 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction. Click here to read the Cars On Line Market Trends Report including 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction prices.

Newsletter readers know that we watch the Barrett-Jackson Auction as a barometer for how strong the collector car market is. We keep a "Hot List" of cars that are most desirable in the collector car market. Based on that list we can tell if prices are going up or going down. We have just completed an analysis of 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction prices and. in doing so. discovered that collector cars have not only caught up with pre-recession prices but are surpassing them. Just before the recession we saw collector car prices drop dramatically. Ever since then collectors have been looking at results of collector car sales to find out if the market could rebound. It has taken six years to do it. but we can now safely say that the market is back.
