1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500 Tax July 2014 MOT October 2014

For sale is my 1979 Triumph Spirfire 1500. I bought this just before Christmas but have now nought another Spitfire that I couldnt pass up so this has to go.

I will try and describe the car as accuratly as possible but there is no substitution for coming to have alook yourself.

The car drive really nice with a lovely sound from the twin SS Exhaust. It does run a little rich and will probably need the carb neeedles changed or the K+N Air Filters fitted changed back to the originals. An original air filter box is included. The carbs were rebuilt 3 weeks ago.

The tyres are all very good and fairly good standard wheels. The spare is like new. The gears select well but it does not have overdrive.

As far as the bodywork is concerned. it will need repainting as there are bubbles appearing where water got into the original paint. These are not rust but are in the paint. they may even mop out with some effort.

The tub itself is in excellent condition. The bulk head. floors. sills. boot floor. rear valance are totally solid. There are two areas of bubblig on the drivers sill but these are not holed and will rub back for paint. The bonnet will require two lower wings at some point as well as two new front quater valances.

The chrome is good with some pitting but passable.

The interior is tan houndstooth. The seats have only one small hole near the seat belt clip on the driverd side but other than that the covers are good. New foams will be required at some point. It has very good door cards. A Mota Lita steering wheel is fitted. The carpet is useable. Includes a full and half tonnau cover

The soft top is very good with one very small broken seam on the rear window that could be fixed with some strong clear glue. A second Soft top and frame. with a split side window is also supplied.

I have a file of receipts for work carried out when this car was restored in 2002. I have the details of the person who had this work carried out who will be interested in buying this car back in the future when he can sort out storage. It was his first car.

The V5 is present and in my name.
