1973 Volkswagen Beetle 1300 - Very Simple Project! - Worth good money when complete!
I bought this Beetle last year with good intentions of getting her back on the road - unfortunately I need the space and time for my camper.
She was fully restored 4 years ago by a local mechanic/enthusiast. Since then she was owned by a friend of mine until last year when there was a problem with engine. The car was taken to a mechanic. the engine taken out and stripped down. It was advised the cheapest option (rather than pay his £40 an hour labour rate) was to buy a new engine. At this point my friend decided to sell the car to me and put the money towards a car more fitting for her change in circumstances.
The car will need an engine. it doesn't come with one - second hand engines are easy to source. cheap and can be fitted in an afternoon (it's only 4 bolts!) If the buyer wants I may be able to source an engine for them after the auction.

The car has been resprayed in an attractive cream colour. There are some bubbles around the lights (usual place) along with a few other bits here and there. nothing major. There are also some tasteful additions to the car which really make it stand out such as the bumpers. old style brake lights and quite rare 'Beetle Sport' wheels (all of which have nearly new tyres) The interior has been professionally re-upholstered in a blue and white vinyl and is still in very good condition.
Floor pans solid. Doors. bonnet. engine lid. spare wheel well etc are all very good too.
There is one small hole in the nearside heater channel. I have had a good poke around with a screwdriver and the spread is very limited. In my personal opinion it can simply be plated up (see photo).
Apart from the small hole in the heater channel I can't find anything else that would cause the car to fail an MOT - as I said easy project!
On the road this beetle could fetch a very good price. especially with the additions it's been given.
I will be sad to lose it but the camper will be taking lots of space. time and money.

The car has no MOT and will ofcourse need to be trailored away.
V5 present.
