This Rolls Royce Shadow One was rescued from a garage where it had stood for some years. I have spent the last year or so recommissioning it so it can once again be enjoyed on the roads.

The vehicle belonged to a family friend. who after finally deciding he would never do anything with it. offered it to me.

The car was originally purchased from Broughton of Cheltenham ( I still have the original bill of sale) which is still in existence but is now solely a Bentley dealer.

I rescued the car from its garage in October 2012. At that point it had not been run since 1999. Unfortunately it would not start and it took 5 people to push it out of the garage.

The car has undergone a full refurbishment of the hydraulic system brakes and suspension. Every single hose has been replaced. All six of the brake callipers have been totally refurbished. with all new seals and pistons.

The engine has had a complete service with all the fluids flushed through and new fluids added. The fuel system has also been rebuilt. including new carb floats. seals and the carburettor has been dismantled. cleaned and then professionally tuned. A new fuel pump has also been fitted. The ignition system has also been rebuilt. new coil. points. voltage regulator. alternator. spark plugs. rotor arm etc. /span>
The engine has had lots of new seals and filters as well as a new thermostat and seals for the expansion tank. The car has also been fitted with a brand new Varta battery which is guaranteed. Most of the new parts I have fitted have come from Flying spares who specialise in and supply Rolls-Royce parts. I have bills and receipts for all the parts fitted and all the work carried out as well as some old receipts and MOT's.

This Rolls-Royce has NEVER been welded!!! When I got the car up on a ramp I realised that the underneath of the car had been painted in a thick wax. presumably in preparation for storage. The underside of the car is in better condition than my modern daily driver. There is some rust in the car. Unfortunately a creeper had made its way into the garage where this car had been stored and it has damaged the paint in places (see photos). There are patches of damaged paint on the bonnet and the tops of the doors which have allowed surface rust to accrue. These patches are neither big or particularly bad.

The only real rust in the body work is around the rear valance in the corners and the front valance where it has sustained stone chips.

The brightwork/chrome is generally in very good order. The drivers side rear bumper corner is a little pitted and rusty (This is above the worst of the rear valance rot) The front bumper also has the odd stone chip in the chrome.

Over all the panels are very straight and rust free. The panels are all solid the body work as a whole is extremely presentable.

The interior is grey leather with grey lambskin rugs. The seats are all in very good condition. I have treated the leather once and it has made a remarkable difference. I am sure with some further TLC they would come up even better. The door cards are all intact. The car is entirely original with no additional holes cut for speakers or any other damage to the interior. The seats are all very comfortable and the electrics work fantastically. All the interior gauges work as does the heater (Which is fantastic) Unfortunately some of the wood has delaminated. This has affected both the front door capping and the top of the dashboard where it meets the windscreen.

In summary this is a fantastic example of a historic vehicle. It has never been used as a wedding car. the millage is low and it is mechanically perfect. It requires some further titivation to make perfect but is perfectly usable as is. I have personally covered 500 miles in it since I had it MOT'd in July. It starts on the button and has been an extremely reliable classic.

I have been both open and honest about this cars good and bad points. I am simply looking for a fair and honest sale to some one who will further enjoy this fantastic car.  Please feel free to contact me to arrange a viewing or test drive BEFORE the auction ends. I am happy to deal with foreign bidders but please make contact first. I can be contacted via +447833491349

Lots more Photographs and videos of the underside of the car and the work carried out by email.
