Up for sale is my 1969 Alfa Romeo Berlina sedan. She is a daily driver. not a show car. This is a true Italian Sport Sedan that held  its own back in the day. The 105 Series Berlinas are getting harder and harder to find these days as they only made them for a few years this body style and not many were imported into the US. with perhaps only a few hundred or less still running around. This car has a 2. O litre conversion with the SPICA fuel Injection and Shankle Sure Start ( to replace troublesome thermo actuated start). Previous owner provided receipts for engine rebuild in 1993.

The Berlina is a great handling car with balanced f/r weight. and won many races when they hit the track. and will outrun most if not all similar Euro sedans of similar vintage.  Light in handling and with 2. 0 liter engine has plenty of power for the weight. and You can bring three of your friends along the ride. with a huge trunk for luggage.

The Berlina 105 series also share a lot of mechanical hardware with Guila Gt and Spiders. Parts are plentiful and inexpensive. making it a great classic daily driver and a good candidate for someone on a budjet that wants to get into the Italian Collector car market. The cars are very easy to work on and with regular maintenance. are dependable and reliable.

Previous owner had reconditioned dash with undercoating but it still shows two hairline cracks. When I got the car the old wood veneer was destroyed and so I had the dash removed. and took it to a custom furniture maker here in S. F. he copied the template and I selected a beautiful Mahogany veneer that he painstakingly mounted on gasket backing. and laminted it and cut out the holes for gauges lights. etc. ($1300) I could have gone a lesser route but this was a craftsmen who made a one of a kind piece. (probably spent too much here. but I got excited)  I also found a company that makes retro style classic radios that are I pod compatible. I had one installed.

My Mechanic- Angelo -Imported Motor Service in S. f. removed the dash. cheked all the wiring; tuned up the engine- timing was off; fixed the short in the brake lights; replaced cracked steering wheel. installed a new retro lighter;  Re-attached door handles. mounts on bumpers; installed a new Intersate battery. and we gave it an Alignment.

The under body is clean with evidence of rust repair at underside drivers floor panel. No visible rust in the other usual places like the rocker panels and around the windows. Body is pretty straight with some evidence previous owner said it had been rear-ended. Bumpers are pretty nice and chrome is great. Front end trim. grill nice.

The car runs strong. Idles nicely. nbsp;does not overheat or smoke or burn oil. It  handles well. stops straight. has  a good clutch and the gears are smooth with no 2nd gear grind. All headlights. taillights work. High and low beam work. Interior gauges work fuel. oil pres. temp. even Clock! ( which is usually toast) One instrument light we think for the brake wear system is missing. Blinkers work as well. Interior side lights do not. May only need bulbs. (I did not check)

The cosmetics on the care are NOT perfect. The car is a 10 footer with visible blemishes in the clear coat on the roof and in other places. One large chip in right rear quarter panel (see picture) and other nicks scrapes here and there. A good paint job will do the car justice. but as a daily fun driver - especially here in S. F. its does just fine as is.

Overall this is a pretty nice Daily Driver quality Berlina that will give you years of dependable fun Alfa Romeo driving experience. It is Not Original and Not being sold as a perfect car. It is a 40 Year Old Italian Sports sedan that drives well. is dependable. does not overheat. . has good tires and a decent interior. This car is a smart choice for someone who wants to get into the classic car market. The 1969 Berlinas are only increasing in value as the market for the Italians has been heating up in recent years.

Good luck bidding.

thank you.
