DESCRIPTION

Easiest way to do this car is to give you all the facts I know. and then go over any issues. so here goes:

1959 RAMBLER AMERICAN 2 DOOR WAGON

COMPLETE CUSTOM BUILT AND DESIGNED 2X3 RACE CHASSIS DESIGNED TO BE CERTIFIABLE.

COMPLETE NEW INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM WITH TUBULAR A-ARMS AND RACK AND PINION STEERING SYSTEM.

CUSTOM FABRICATED AND DESIGNED TRIANGULATED 4-BAR REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM.

HIGHLY MODIFIED AND CUSTOM BUILT GM G80 LOCKER REAR 7. 5” POSI WITH 3. 42 GEARS AND AN ALUMINUM GIRDLE FROM A GMC TYPHOON. THIS SYSTEM WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED TO TAKE HIGH TORQUE FROM THE AWD TURBO SET-UP IN THE TYPHOON. AND HAS BEEN MASSAGED TO THE HILT.

COMPLETE AIR-RIDE SYSTEM FROM CUSTOM INSTALLED BAGS AT ALL FOUR CORNERS TO THE PAINTED TO MATCH TANK INSIDE THE CAR. FULLY FUNCTIONAL SWITCHGEAR. AND AIRCRAFT QUALITY LINES AND FITTINGS.

Those are the facts that I know on the car. Now let me just say this… BAM!!!!!!! This car is one sick. twisted. and amazing creation that turns more heads cruising down the road than a naked supermodel on a unicorn would!

IT IS THE BADDEST. COOLEST. MOST WICKED CAR YOU CAN IMAGINE. and just standing by it at idle makes you feel all funny inside.

It starts up with a serious of procedures like any high-horsepower blown monster does. and needs a little prodding when cold to keep idle up. but when it warms up a touch. it settles into a healthy. lumpy. almost cat-like purring sound that is a balance of cam. blower. and monster cubic inches working together like a symphony freaking orchestra to create the most incredible sound you’ve heard since your last trip to the drag strip!!!

Roll the manual valve body tranny into 1st. and hold freaking tight. because this car is ready to unleash all 850hp on you with a press of the go pedal!

POW!!!!!!!!! You did it now! Planting the pedal puts your butt FIRMLY into the seat and makes you fight like an F-16 pilot to keep your hands on the wheel. thanks to the G’s initiated by your right foot.

Keep it together and slap into second. and it all happens again. while the world starts turning into something out of a surrealist painting around you!

Third. Good Lord. will it ever slow down? Not if you keep your foot in it. Your passenger is mumbling something about promising to be good through hands clenched in prayer. and the scenery has lost all form and structure. Does this thing have a parachute? Unfortunately not. but it might not be a bad investment for the next owner.

Brake pedal down. and the new four wheel disc system works in perfect harmony to scrub off speed and bring the ride to a complete stop without any undue modulation. pulling. or fade.

It’s over. almost as fast as it began. but all you want to do is wipe your sweaty palms into your Levi’s. turn around. and DO IT ALL AGAIN!

This car is like a drug. and is so addictive to drive that you may find yourself sleeping in the confines of the back deck just to make sure you don’t miss a second of driving time!

The air ride is in exceptional working order. and goes up and down quickly without any drama.

It handles great. and steering is sure and manageable without any issues.

The metallic lime green finish is a custom blended HOUSE OF KOLOR finish. and is topped with Galaxy Black Metallic around the windows to split things up.

The exterior is clean and neat. but this is not built for the Ridler award guy so expect a couple of small blemishes. stone chips. etc. on it. Will it still look like a million at a car show? YES. I’m sure it will look even nicer when you get it home and detail it. I took it to a local show in town. and people went absolutely crazy for it! If I could have charged $1 a picture. I probably could have made $100!

Glass is all clean. free of cracks. and solid. Side windows slide open like they should. and the front’s roll up and down pretty smoothly as well.

Molding. trim. and weather stripping are all in good condition.

Wheels show wonderfully. and are wrapped in good rubber with more than a fair amount of usable tread life remaining.

Chrome and trim is in good to very good condition. with the exception of the bumpers. which could be chromed again. powder-coated. or painted to bring them to the level of the rest of the car.

Inside is clean and custom from front to back. with leatherette trim. carpeting. custom made center console and more. It all looks great. and everything appears to function like it should.

Dash is painted to match. and has an awesome engine turned fascia panel that looks really cool in the car.

There are little things you can do to make it yours. and personalize it a bit more. but overall. this is a done. done. done car that has been driving and terrorizing the street and strip in Florida for a year or so.

What’s left to do? Hook up the speedometer and get it working. hook up and/or calibrate some of the other gauges. get the bumpers chromed or painted. find and install windshield wipers and a motor or get some kind of cap for where they used to go. and figure out a way to escape when people swarm the car.

It doesn’t do anything funny. everything else is working like it should. and it has proven to be reliable and fun every time I have taken it out.

Can you street it? Heck yeah! That’s what it was built for. Run it in town. cruise the boulevard. and hang on those County Roads all you want.

Head out on the Interstate for that Power Tour? Ummmm. NOT without a gear change. The car was not intended to hit the highway. and a gear swap would be needed before you start long-distance 90mph cruising in it. With that done. I am confident it would make one heck of a highway cruiser. and be the hit of the show when you got to it!

If you are serious about the car. you are going to have 1. 00. 00 technical questions that I can’t answer. but I will contact the prior owner and he can.

Best bet is to write them out and send them as an eBay message. I will get them answered as quickly as possible and send them back to you.
