1984 AUSTIN MINI MAYFAIR BLUE, 14,400 miles. Burl walnut dash, superb.

I'd searched for ages to find a Mini like this!Several looked good. having been restored. but they just didn't feel right?Doors didn't close properly. trim wasn't in good condition. you know. they weren't original!Finding this one. I'd ticked all the boxes. Low miles few owners. original paint. and with minimal tweaking. runs like a dream!I'd just bought a beautiful 1984 Mini Mayfair in the best colour metallic blue. virtually unmarked interior. and all original fittings. I decided with the addition of a burl walnut dashboard and centre console. I'd have the car of my dreams!There were three spaces for extra instruments on the new dash. and although I've filled them. only the clock is connected and working. so its up to you what you want to add. I had thought an oil pressure meter would be a good move. but didn't get round to it. I also fitted a boot lining kit. which looks fantastic. and compliments the Mayfair's touch of luxury. It came with the 10" GB alloys with mint tyres. although I'd have been happy with the standard steel wheels. but they do suit the car well. Original two clock dash parts are included if you wish to revert back to standard. Retro looking CD player has been fitted with I pod connection and USB slot to take any music format. removable face for security. Running on its original subframe s. this car flew through its MOT test in January. with the tester commenting on its amazing condition. Lifting the carpets shows original factory paint. again testimony to the cars limited miles. headlining is spotless and in pristine condition. I have done minimal work on the car since purchasing it. I checked all the brake system out prior to MOT test. and the drums show no sign of wear. All areas under the car show protective wax. obviously working very well to preserve the usually rotten subframes. remember. this car is 29 years old! As you will know. these classic Minis seem to be enjoying a boom price wise. with a tidy runner fetching over £2000. some restored cars fetching £3-4kSo to find a car in this condition. looking this good. you must be prepared to pay that little bit extra!I'm the first to admit that digital photos can even make my mother-in-law look attractive! But this car looks as good in the flesh as it does in the photos!Viewing is highly recommended. you definitely won't be disappointed!I've had a few areas touched up. but hiding nothing. just lacquer fade and a few stone chips. the photos I've used in this advert is prior to any remedial work. I've loads of MOT's to back up the mileage. but honestly. once viewed. you won't doubt it's miles!Car starts well. and drives perfect. steering is precise and although no servo assisted brakes. this drum all round system stops the car efficiently and safely. no signs of steering judder as on high mileage cars I've owned. it is a genuine little car that can't help put a smile on your face!Only selling as I'm starting a new project that has unexpectedly been offered to me that has taken over my garage. and its not fair to leave the little Mini out in the cold. I have the car insured with Lancaster insurance. costing £107 fully comprehensive which includes breakdown cover UK  and Europe. This type of insurance has no surrender value. which should show I did not intend to sell the car so soon. so please don't think I'm offloading the car for any untoward reason. its just a question of only having one single garage!Any trial or inspection. Been asked about the history on the mini. and although ot much came with the car. there are MOT. back to its first one in 

1987 Mileage 030121988 mileage 036461989 mileage 042231990 mileage 049211991 mileage 057811992 mileage 066341993 mileage 073301994 mileage 08145There is a gap here. next mot is 1998. mileage showing08738. /span>Another gap. forwards to July 2004. showing mileage of :08755. Jumping forwards to 2010. I don't have an mot sheet. but there is an emissions test sheet dated 7/6/2010. and this shows the mileage as being 143. 88?Obviously the tester has taken the mileage reading exactly as seen I'm the speedometer. using the final digit that records tenths of a mile. where any mini owner would know that mini speedometers do not register miles in excess of 99. 99. where the mileage would then revert to zero! I did send an email to VOSA over this. but they said it was a matter to be taken up with the testing station. even though I'd explained that the mileage on a mini couldn't possibly register over 143. 00 miles!It's obviously an oversight. and the mileage is now only unjust over 14. 00 and a few tenths!!!I've contacted the issuing garage. and asked for them to supply me with a cover letter saying that the oversight was indeed a mistake on their part. but I can 100% assure you. the car has only done very low miles!
8th April update!35 watchers. still no viewings???Three people have asked for my phone number. but never phoned??Two people have asked for a day for viewing. one never turned up. the other had a change of circumstance. but only told me after i made contact with him!Are you really going to buy the car from your armchair?You owe it to yourself to view!I'm not going to offer you any deal if you can't be bothered to view. so please don't waste my time.  Good cars do fetch good money. and this is a good car! if your looking for a quality Mini. this is it!Some classic car insurance firms offer cheap insurance for the younger driver. so this could be a wonderful birthday present for your son/daughter!First to get off their backside and view will buy this beautiful little mini!
