Dale Jr's Ultimate 56 Chevy Nomad:

This vehicle is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel-Air Nomad Station Wagon. The vehicle was acquired by the current owner in 2013.

The vehicle was made available to the public by way of the Discovery Channel. Diet Mountain Dew. Fast & Loud Sweepstakes.   This vehicle was restored and presented to NASCAR driver. Dale Earnhardt Jr. . by Gas Monkey Garage through their current television show Fast-N-Loud.

This vehicle was Inspected/Appraised on 2-3-14. by “Auto Appraisers of Nevada” to get an un-biased and fair appraisal re; Condition and Value.  “The vehicle is considered to be in very good overall condition”.  

By comparison to other vehicles at various car shows. I would go further and say that this Nomad is in very good to excellent condition. The restoration and custom work is of high quality with no major blemishes. cosmetic or mechanical.  Most aspects of the Nomad have been restored or reconditioned.  A new crate 350 cid ZZ4 engine. Holly four barrel Performance carburetor and an overdrive transmission with a B&M Converter Lock-Up Control has been installed. The car is lowered with spacers installed between the original rear axel and leaf springs. The front suspension is lowered with new springs and up graded to disk brakes and brake control system (The rear brakes are original drums). All the front bushings and ball joints have been replaced. A power steering system is installed which makes for responsive steering. They added an adjustable proportioning valve to set the braking action. This suspension system rides on a set of 18 inch Rocket Racing chrome Boosters and low profile rubber. Safety equipment includes seatbelts. front and rear. The gas tank. electric fuel pump and associated plumbing are new.  A Ron Davis radiator is installed along with custom duel exhaust. The complete interior was restored with leather seats. door panels. headliner. nbsp;a custom center console with a Kenwood Double Din stereo. model DNX890HD. consisting of CD. DVD. MP3 and Navigation. It's finished with four speakers. power amplifier and rear custom subwoofer. with an enclosure matching the interior. The original AM radio is installed along with the Chevy gauges and clock. Most of the Nomads wiring and all the engine compartment wiring has been replaced with new. Other items are: Two cup holders positioned between the console and front seat and don't forget the matching paint ice cooler that the Monkey's panted for Dale Jr. The Air conditioning is a retro-look system and is clean. neatly installed and appropriately vintage. It includes both exterior and interior systems (heating and cooling). Exterior paint color's chosen to compliment sponsor Diet Mountain Dew which are Lime Green and Silver. They set each other off perfectly with all bright work near brilliant.

This vehicle is always noticed as the Dale Jr. and Gas Monkey 1956 Chevy Nomad. that it is.  This Nomad is a cool Hwy. cruiser as requested by Mr Earnhardt.

I have taken the Nomad to several car shows here in Las Vegas and I am always surprised at the shear number of folks that recognize this as the Gas Monkey Nomad. If the show didn't draw them to the car. they find the colors attractive. They all seem to gravitate to the Nomad one way or another.   Some people actually think I cloned this from the show and when they find out that it's the real deal. their eyes light up and they get this big grin. The most fun I have is meeting all the people. all the thumbs up and stares .

Driving the Nomad is a real treat. It's smooth and responsive for a classic car of that size. When Dale Jr. commissioned the car. he wanted it to be a cruiser. This car is certainly that and more!
