1960 Austin Healey MK1 Bugeye Sprite project.     I originally bought the 1960 body (tub) and bonnet (front end) which had the title and data plate and nothing else.   A new frame (to accept a 327 V-8!) had been fabricated and welded into the virtually rust-free tub that had been cut to accept it. nbsp;but the original sponsor stickers remained on the bonnet. untouched from its late 60's/early 70's racing (you can see the shadow of the white rondell on the bonnet surface where the white background and number once was displayed- you can make out a "3". but the second number looks like another "3". "6" or "8").

I began collecting parts for this project two years ago with the intent of putting together a "rat rod" bugeye to run in Summer months.   Seen in these photos is the 1962 Austin Healey Mk2 Sprite (no title) which I purchased to yield most of the parts required.   What is rusty on the Mk2 tub can be replaced with the rust free bugeye tub.   I cleaned and clear-coated a set of wheels and put a set of cleaned-up hub caps on them with tires that hold air.   I started to clean up and clear coat the front end parts.   I had a key made for the ignition switch.

Here are some of the issues remaining on this project:

     1. original 948cc engine in Mk2 is currently stuck

     2. windscreen not included

     3. original seats not included (replacement seats like one depicted in photos)

This is a project to be completed or a whole bunch of very valuable parts to use on other projects (good Bugeye bonnets sell for $1500-2000 alone. as we all know).

Please email any questions.   Payment is due at auction close via PayPal. cashier's check or money order and pickup is the responsibility of the buyer.

Hi, I have a pretty nice 1959 Bug-eye, but the turkey who sold it to me never produced a title. I took his word a duplicate was "on its way" from Utah, but he screwed me. now I need a title before investing any more money in the project. would you be willing to sell the parts that have the VIN numbers on it? I haven't looked at the car in a while, but if I remember correctly, one VIN number is on a door, and the other under the bonnet? this is not a scam, and I am not trying to break any laws, but what does one do with a car he's fallen in love with, yet can't title in California? thank you mate......
