This original 72 SS Chevelle comes with the rare VIN-matching buildsheet. along with the correct SS badging. It is a CA car and shows it. with no known rust issues. As it sits now. this Chevelle is driver quality and would be a perfect candidate for a show car project.

It runs great. has a deep rumble and is fun to drive. Prime example of early 70s muscle.

Partial VIN info on pad: 14C104497

The car has several options incl. A/C which is currently not connected.

Odometer reading 72894 miles which I can not verify to be correct as it could be rolled and there is NO previous documentation is available.

Good running. fair looking car which shows old. non professional restoration work for basic driver purposes.

Paint is old and not original color. with a lot of major and minor flaws.

Good rust free frame that shows it's West Coast heritage.

Stock engine compartment that still shows some of originality in looks and used parts.

Front tires are good BFG 215/60 (approx. 75%) and rears are BFG 275/60-15 in bad condition. need replacing.

BODY:
Pretty straight. original body without any signs of major accidents but some places are heavy on the bondo. Paint is a shiny uni color blue. The car does not seem to have had any (heavy) rust. no compound in the lower door corners and lower trunk corners. The underbody is really. really nice and shows it's perfect West Coast heritage.

The nose clip shows no cracks and mis-alignment at the RH headlight area - no signs of a significant hit there. The doors and lids fit as they should and like when the car was new. left door (or fender) could be reshaped a bit.

Very rust-free floors with few dents - probably not a race history on this car. Very nice rocker panel seams; all showing its good South-Western heritage. The floor has a few dents from probably a rock hitting it. can be removed really easy.

EXTERIOR DETAIL:
Chrome bumpers are fairly straight. show shiny chrome with a little "weather" in them but also some little rust spots. Inside bumpers and nice and show some surface rust. SS emblems all over the car. All moldings are there. no rocker moldings and no signs the car ever had them.

UPHOLSTERY:
Original style black vinyl interior that is old and shows some tears. Headliner is original and shows sloppy fit. Original door panels that show warpage because of moisture damage. arm rests are OK. Old. worn carpet. well working and good looking sun visors. The dash is cracked in several places and is not cut up for additional gauges but an under dash gauge pack has been installed. An Autometer Tach is also added.

INSTRUMENTATION:
All instruments there and most work. Several options do not work: A/C. headlight switch is flaky. blower fan. heater and newer radio. Aftermarket steering wheel installed. horn does not work. Glove box opens well and has a nice liner. Good looking original console. No heavy pits in pot metal chrome.

TRUNK:
Original trunk area with very little surface rust. Non original spare which will probably work well. non matching tire is like new.

OTHER:
Original seat belts work well. A/C compressor missing. Hurst shifter added which looks and works well. LH outside remote mirror works well. Four wheel well moldings are present. The emblems are nice. seem to be originals but "454" was put on when the engine was switched. Good original lenses. grille is nice. shows no significant cracks. Wheels are chrome Rally wheels with nice centers.

WEATHERSTRIPPING:
Most seals are nice. original and usable. not new.

GLASS:
Good. tinted glass but windshield has a crack.

ENGINE:
Non-matching 454 V8 in good running condition. Stock engine compartment with many stock parts used. The engine runs hard but a slipping clutch can not get its power on the wheels. Revs high and hard. no blue smoke and immediate idle. Noticeable cam. It idles right away. tight sounding block and a nice rumble in the dual exhausts. Engine bottom is very oily looks like it and the subframe have not been cleaned in some ten years. Moroso chrome valve covers. Edelbrock Performer intake and Holley dual feed Carb (list 3310-4  1034) under an aftermarket chrome air cleaner.

TRANSMISSION:
Good shifting 4-speed manual transmission

STEERING:
This is a power steering car.

BRAKES:
This is a power brake car and brakes work pretty well. no pull to any side and no problems expected. Parking brake works well.

EXHAUST:
Dual exhaust with sheet metal headers. dual half length Flowmaster system with mufflers and no end tips. Good rumbling sound and very functional. No real problems to be expected. No leaks. fairly straight mounting without rattles.

WHEELS:
Original style chrome Rally wheels. (non matching spare) in good condition. Rear end is a stock 10bolt. no leaks.

Car drives well. shows good power. no smoke. no hard engine noise. Car reacts good at any RPM. brakes are straight and feel safe.

Overall a nice driver-condition true SS with West coast heritage.
