With too much work on our hands. we are selling our 1968 Plymouth GTX 2 door hardtop. This is a real GTX with an RS23 VIN#. Build date shows June 29. 1967(629). This GTX has a non optioned (T7)rally gauge pack with tachometer and all are in working order. It is approximately 75% restored and comes with tons of extra donor parts and new OEM parts not yet installed. Runs like a champ and drives very well. The motor is a professionally rebuilt 440 super commando and is correct for the car(83) but not numbers matching(engine stamp states "PT 440S"). Spark fires from an MSD 6AL ignition. blaster 2 coil. billet distributor and 8mm plug wires. Also has a new radiator and a Demon 750 carburetor installed. We do not have the original carburetor. The 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission is also correct for the car(5) and professionally rebuilt. This car comes with the (a6)factory optioned center console w/shifter. It does have the original 8-3/4" rear end(48) and is rebuilt with the original spec 3. 23 gears. new axles. new seals. etc. New parts that we have not yet installed include a new windshield. new headliner and new vinyl top. The suspension. exhaust. brake hardware & lines. fuel tank & lines. motor mounts. bumper brackets and underside of this car is all new. The rear suspension has been upgraded to coilovers with new leaf springs. The front has new upper and lower control arms with new KYB gas shocks. a new K cross member. new spindles. new tie rods & ends. new ball joints. new torsion bars. new steering pitman arms. new sway bars in front and back. new sway bar end links in front and back. all new bushings & new hardware. Completely new brakes. The brake booster. master cylinder. drums. shoes. brake lines & hardware(springs. brackets. keepers. etc. ) is all brand new on all 4 corners. This car has a rust free under carriage and body. All cancerous spots have been cut out and replaced correctly. The wiring harness is new and is 95% installed. The car is originally medium gold metallic(JJ1) per the cowl tag and has been repainted the same color before but unsure when and needs another repaint. It currently has no clear coat on the exterior. The body is laser straight with nice lines and no dents. dings or body filler. All of the exterior trim. window moldings. drip rail moldings and wheel lip moldings that are on the car are either new OEM or restored original. We have extras and the windshield and rear window trim pieces. Both doors. trunk and hood open and shut properly and with ease. We have all of the keys. The interior is (S6N)gold and black and the seats are original and correct per the cowl tag and are in excellent condition with no rips or tears. Only the driver seat is currently temporarily bolted in. It has new black 80/20 loop carpet. It needs the new headliner installed(we have it). needs new door panels(we have the old ones). seats and center console need to be reinstalled. All of the glass is good and we have a new windshield still in the box with a new seal to go with it. The right side quarter vent window assembly and glass is new. We have a new set of window felts also. The trunk and door surround weatherstrips are new. The wheels are just rollers and are not original to the car but come with it. Tires need replacing also. This car just needs a new home where somebody can finish it up and have a great $ maker. a show stopper or both. If you know anything about these cars. then you know how much they are worth and how much they sell for. If your looking for a "True GTX" project that will sure to please. this is it!
