Introduced for the 1963 model year. the C2 generation of Corvette was an instant hit. The car carried over the excellent engines from1962. but the remainder of the car was new. with now iconic styling and independent rear suspension. In 1963 and 1964. all cars were equipped with 327cid engines. In 1965. the Corvette received disc brakes all around for the first time. addressing a longtime area of criticism of the car. particularly considering its significant power ratings. 1965 also marked the arrival of the 425hp 396cid big block engines. Consequently. a 396cid big block 1965 Corvette is a very collectable car since it is the only year in which both a 396cid engine and disc brakes were first available.
This particular car is equipped with U69 AM/FM radio. N32 Teakwood steering wheel. N36 telescopic steering column. power stainless steel brakes. M-20 4-speed manual transmission. K66 transistor ignition. G81 positraction rear axle. F40 special front and rear suspension. N11 off road exhaust system. A02 tinted glass. P48 cast aluminum knock off-wheels. and Goodyear classic black wall radials. Most all factory correct components including the spare. jack. jack tools. seat belts. washer system. shifter. shielding. air cleaner. gas door assembly. and T-3 headlights. This car has one off the nicest frames. number S2819. we have ever seen on a C2. The two year complete frame off restoration was started in 2006 and completed in 2008. The car has only been driven a few hundred miles.
The restoration was completed to high standards and the car presents extremely well. The new paintwork is outstanding. with no signs of damage. The new chrome and stainless are excellent. as are the wheels and glass. The interior is all new or restored. to include the dash pads. carpets. instruments. switches. and door panels.
The engine compartment is extremely clean and has been very nicely detailed. Correct finishes are applied on the engine. and the components are not over-restored. The underside is also extremely clean and detailed to similarly high standards.

The GM official production date was April 20. 1965 and the original delivery dealer was Jim McKay Chevrolet of Fairfax. Virginia (dealer code 421 in zone 14) per the official NCRS/GM shipping data report (SDR). The original Chevrolet Motor Divison invoice states the Corvette was shipped on April 22. 1965. This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a very rare color combination silver with red interior big block disc brake Corvette. This coupe is in “better than new condition” and is nicely equipped and beautifully presented.
