Up for auction is a 1971 Chevrolet Vega that has been cloned into a Baldwin Motion. GT car.   This is nice quality older mechanical and cosmetic restoration of an original straight rust free car.

Body 

Body is perfectly straight and absolutely rust freeMulesanne Blue paint is very nice and shines deeplyThe grill. bumpers and trim are nice driver quality. they some age but are very presentableAll the glass is clean with no cracks.   Windshield has one rock chip that was professionally repaired.   Both side windows roll up and down smoothlyWindow rubbers and door weather stripping has been replacedFiberglass front fenders and Old School Fiberglass hood

Interior

Dash is in excellent condition.   The following NOS Sun Blueline Guages have been added to the car and work flawlessly.   Oil Pressure guage. Temperature guage. Fuel Pressure guage. and 10K Sun Tachometer with NOS Sun Control Box.   All guages were inspected by Williamsons Instruments and the the temperature guage was converted to mechanical and the tach was gone through and updated with the latest and greatest technology.   Steering Wheel real NOS Superior 13" wood wheel that is in excellent condition with zero cracks and properly working horn kit. All the carpet has been replaced with new ACC carpet and looks very nice. Seats were recovered in the correct pattern and material for the vehcileFull 6 point roll cageFactory Heater has been removed. controls are only there to fill the dashRadio does not work

Engine / Transmission / Rear End

Engine is a newly rebuilt LT1 spec SBC 350. 4 bolt 010 block.   One pump of the accelerator and the Holley 3310-2 carburator that was restored by Vintage Musclecar Parts fires right up. 1st time everytime. Less than 500 miles on Engine461 double hump cylinder heads have been ported and polished with stainless steel 2. 02/1. 80 intake and exhaust valves. Transmission is a competition rebuilt TH350 with a manual valve body shifted with a NOS Hurst Auto Stick 2.   It runs a 2800 stall convertor and the transmission works properly and doesn't leak. Narrowed GM 12 bolt with ET finned aluminum cover with 4:56 posi.   New seals. drum brakes. wheel cylinders. and brake lines

Chassis

The under-carriage and underbody are clean and very presentable. Front bushings. ball joints. and steering components have al been replaced with Moog partsNew Moog springs all the around and KYB shocksLakewood style traction bars. powder coated Lakewood yellow. The brakes are in working order.   Original front rotors have been turned and drilled for GM 5 lug wheels.   Front pads and hardware has been replaced along with all of the brake lines for the car. All the fuel lines have been replaced.   Original fuel tank was modified to a sump tank and gas is pumped through a vintage Holley Blue fuel pump and a FRAM HP1 filter.   Very nice and clean installation. Vintage NMW battery box has the battery relocated to right rear of the car and is wired with 1/0 Heavy Duty battery cable.   It has a Interstate 1050 CCA XHD battey installed.   No draw or strain when starting the engine.   Moroso battery cut off switch has been installed though the RH reverse lamp.  Front wheels are real Vintage Keystone 15x4 up front on Carlisle bias ply 5. 60 x 15 tires.   The rear wheels are reverse 15x8 steel wheels powder coated matte black with Mickey Thompson G60x15 Sportsmans.

 

This is a very nice example of a 1971 Chevrolet Vega that has been restored into a GT Baldwin Motion clone.   This car scream will roast the back tires from a stand still launch.   It is a needs nothing vintage 70's Day 2 street car that is ready for car shows or beating the street.   It is being offered at a very resonable reserve.   This car is a blast to drive.   At 10-15 mph you nail the throttle and the rear tires with haze till you lift.   You can't buy the vintage parts and build the car for what I am asking for it.
