The 4-4-2 was one of the greats. It is one of those cars that has inspired people to clone them and build tribute cars based on them. This one is a very nice example of that. Many agree that the mid to late 60's were the pinnacle of American car design and performance options; this car is a reminder of those times. When driving a muscle car in good shape like this one. it is an experience that modern cars will never be able to replicate. Not to mention; it is a head turner. The pictures here are fresh. but somehow do not do it justice. The interior is exceptional both in condition and in design. Ebay is a wonderful way to advertise cars. driving them is the best way to know a car. This one gets better the closer you get to it.
The man who restored this car sent me this on 2-28-2014
"It has the original 330 engine in it. rebuilt. The transmission is from a '69 442. and it has a 3. 08 posi. It has a period-correct AM-FM/8 track. I ran speaker wires to the rear and they are under the seat. The tailpipes are correct 442 chambered pipes. The entire front end. rear end and all suspension and brakes were rebuilt with new springs. shocks. etc. Everytning in the convertible top assembly was replaced including motor. rams and lines and weaterstrips. The air cleaner was custom made by me with a snorkle from another air cleaner to make it dual-snorkle. A lot of thought and planning went into the build. I did not do the bodywork. it was done before I bought it. I had it painted. though. I completed the car in 2011. It sat for 15 years before I bought it. "***Thanks again Billy
