After much contemplation I have decided to offer for sale my 1975 BMW 3. 0cs. Owned by me since 1987 this represents a rare opportunity to aquire what is arguably the most handsome coupe BMW ever created. and this particular vehicle is one of the last cs models produced at the Karmann workshops before being superceded by the 6 series.

The subject of a major restoration 12 years ago which included new wings. sills. door skins etc (genuine panels) following which the shell was wax sealed and repainted in the original Turkis Blue. Much of the brightwork was rechromed and the Alpina alloys completely refurbished. Suspension. brakes and ancillaries were overhauled with many new parts fitted. All in all a fortune was spent. The car has remained in dry storage since. being run up and moved periodically and generally retains its post restoration condition.

Fitted with a genuine `Batmobile` front air dam and a BMW motosport steering wheel. The Alpina alloys are fitted with new Dunlop Sport tyres and stainless centre caps. BMW toolkit in bootlid. Supplied with genuine BMW workshop manuals (2 volumes) with chapters detailing every aspect of vehicle.

The interior is very good with original cloth seats and squabs. The wood cappings are intact and carpets are original with matching boot floor trim.

The superb straight six runs lustily and revs freely. the brakes function but will require some attention prior to road use. New pistons/seals and brake pads/shoes were fitted during overhaul so not much should be required. Just removing. cleaning and replacing. A thorough programme of maintenance will be required following such a period of inactivity. fluids. filters etc. Suspension bushes and the like will have settled and may require some attention. An opportunity for a new owner to get their hands dirty and get to know the vehicle. When last driven the Borg Warner box changed smoothly and really suits this car. All electrical systems function. lights. power windows. wipers etc. I have also amassed many spares over the years. mechanical and trim. many no longer available. and these will be offered to the purchaser.

An appreciating classic and a chance for the enthusiast to own a piece of motoring history. The car is not perfect and as stated will need some mechanical attention before being properly roadworthy. This is a very sound example however. Any corrosion has been remedied and this was always the expensive part of restoring a CS.

An ongoing building project has forced my hand. I do not realistically have the time (or soon the space) to spend on her and it is a sensible decision to find her a new home.
