If you've been trying to find a great CJ. this rather modern-looking 1986 Jeep CJ7 is one that should be at the top of your shortlist. With a clean carfax. loaded with options. including a full hardtop with matching doors and cold A/C. it's a well-maintained. nicely modified off-roader that delivers on the CJ's promise of go-anywhere utility. The fact that it looks great is only icing on the cake!


The sharp charcoal gray paint looks industrial-strength on the Jeep's squared-off bodywork. but it also gives it a very up-to-date look today. As one of the most recognizable icons in the motoring world. the CJ7 has certainly earned its status. but this one really is nicer than most. Repainted a few years ago. it presents extremely well and although it would look great romping through the trails. we think it might be a bit too nice for all that. Fit and finish are above-average for a CJ. and certainly worlds better than those that have been abused off-roading. and with the metal doors and hardtop in place. it seals up well and doesn't clatter and rattle down the road like a high-mileage piece. Tubular bumpers with satin black paint enhance the no-nonsense look and offer some additional protection for when the going gets rough. We've always loved the all-business Jeeps with their asymmetrical side mirrors. stylish fender flares. and rear-mounted tires. and this one ties it all together quite neatly.


Perhaps even more astounding is the condition of the interior. which is a great balance of nicely preserved original equipment and new 'shiny' parts for the components you want to show off. Light gray bucket seats wear reproduction seat covers almost identical to what it had in 1986 and surprisingly. there's gray carpet on the floors instead of rubber mats or bedliner material. The dash is full of amazingly well-preserved original gauges. with only the tach being replaced over the years. The various vent. headlight. temp and wiper control knobs were replaced so it presents in top form. and yes. that's an A/C system hanging underneath the dash. a rare option that will definitely be welcome with the all-weather hardtop in place. Other original factory items like the dash pad. leather-wrapped steering wheel and grab bar for the passenger are in amazingly well-preserved original condition for their age. and for comfort it includes a tilt column and even cruise control! That's a newer AM/FM/MP3 stereo with round speakers in the dash and there's lots of brightly polished stainless trim to brighten things up a bit inside. The roll bars are wrapped in original-style padding so you don't have to worry about knocking around off-road and there's reasonable storage space behind the rear seat.


AMC's reliable 258 cubic inch inline-six is the engine you want in your CJ. famous for torque and reliability. With a clean CarFAX that proves the low mileage (and only four owners). you know it's a great runner. and aside from a newer Weber carburetor. it's quite stock. A recent tune-up means it starts easily and runs like it should. so you don't have to think twice about going somewhere remote. The 4-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case are supported by a new clutch that was replaced about 4000 miles ago and a recent exhaust system that uses a tubular exhaust header and a Flowmaster muffler to give the big six a burly yet suttle voice. The suspension remains stock and handles those big 15-inch American Racing wheels and 31x10. 5-15 BFGoodrich off-road tires with ease.

TERMS OF SALE  

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.

12. An additional documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale.
