1976 International Scout Traveler V8 4x4 Convertible

Very Rare Traveler up for sale. These longer wheelbase Scouts (118") rarely come up for sale and there is currently a restored Traveler on ebay that is listed for $29k. The Traveler was the only produced between 1976 and 1980 and was the only International model to win the prestigious 4x4 of the year award. Not only are the very stable on the trail but the top comes off and makes one of the coolest convertible trucks around. International only produced ~31k models in 1976 but most of those we're the smaller Scout II's.

This particular Traveler is very solid and is covered in a nice shade of blue. There is only one small cancer spot on the passenger rear lower rocker but it's not bad. I've had many in the past and this one is in great shape compared to the normal basket cases you find out there that are full of rust. It has a stout 345 (2bbl) with the 727 tranny. It runs strong. no smoke. lots of power. shifts great and stops great. power steering works awesome. Dana's work great. Gas gauge doesn't work (not a surprise). All the glass is good. Mechanicals are fine and it drives nice. Tires have plenty of tread. All fluids replaced. cleaned and checked. Rear seat and door panels are in excellent condition. the front buckets have seat covers on them due to normal wear. the rear cargo area is currently stripped and ready for rhino lining. The top is currently off but it's complete and a Scout II tailgate will go with the sale which is a nice feature when the top is off. I have the original Line Ticket as well as the original owner's manual.

These are getting tough to find and are quickly becoming a strong investment. Only one Scout II went through the recent Barrett Jackson auction and it sold for 29k.

Being sold at no reserve. great candidate for a soft restoration or leave as is and embarrass all those Jeeps on the trail!
