You see a lot of Chevy pickups of this vintage running around. but not many GMCs. and while they share a family resemblance. this handsome 1971 GMC Sierra Grande pickup stands out at family reunions. Thanks to a smart-running small block V8. a lowered suspension. and a great color combination. it's the gentleman's alternative to the bowtie.


Bright red pickups always look great. and this one is no exception. These trucks are quite popular today. and it's easy to see why. and if you're not a Chevy guy but like the way it looks. then perhaps this GMC is a good fit. Paint is above average. not perfect. but good enough to get the 'thumbs up' as you motor down the road. and the modern urethane paint gives a great shine with minimal maintenance requirements. The bed is protected by spray-in bedliner material that makes it ready to work and quite functional to this day. and you'll also notice the set of white side marker lights and taillight lenses that actually look pretty darned good on this truck. Nice chrome bumpers. that distinctive GMC grille. and tinted windows give it a polished look. suggesting that this GMC is capable of doing more than just hauling your gear.


Ordering the Sierra Grande package got you some upgraded upholstery inside your new GMC pickup. which amounts to some embossed designs running down the sides of the seat cover. And in truth. it's in really good shape. with matching black carpets to help control noise and heat and a set of door panels that were an upgrade over the usual all-metal echo chambers. You also got some woodgrained accents. a sporty steering wheel. and a bunch of gauges that are some of the best-looking dials of the period. The pointers are a little faded but the faces of the instruments still look crisp and clear. You'll also note that this is a factory A/C truck and the hardware has been upgraded and it now uses R134a refrigerant for easy maintenance. If there was a radio in it when it was new. it couldn't hold a candle to the sounds pumped out by the AM/FM/CD head unit now in place.


A late-model 350 cubic inch V8 was stuffed under the hood. and in the relatively lightweight pickup. it makes for entertaining performance. Topped by a 4-barrel carb and with a mild camshaft inside. it has a great eight-cylinder burble and the long-tube headers definitely help in the torque department. The satin black engine bay is all business. but service access is good and thanks to power steering and brakes. this truck is a pleasure to drive around town. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic that powers a 12-bolt rear end with 3. 08 gears. so highway cruising is relaxed and easy. The chassis is mostly original and in good condition with an obviously new exhaust system tucked up close to the frame. The suspension was lowered all around. giving it a sporty look and improved handling without losing its carrying capacity. and handsome Pacer alloys are wrapped in 235/75/15 Yokohama radials.


So if you're seeking something that's not a Chevy and maybe has a bit of luxury to go with its functionality. this GMC should fit the bill. Call today!

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.
