This 1967 Cougar simply wants to be driven!  This is one really nice example of these fine cars and Mercury’s entry into the pony car market. Fitted with Mercury’s European-influenced styling. this coupe really differentiates itself from the ’67-’68 Mustangs. Like many highly option Mustangs. though. this Cougar came from the factory with the potent 302cid small block V8. It’s fun on the road. great to look at. easy to work on. and surprisingly comfortable. and enjoyable to drive.

The body of the car is very good condition with one small spot that we are already fixing.   For us. this car is all about style. It’s not the fastest or loudest pony car. but it’s got the iconic “electric razor” grill. the hideaway headlights. the burble from the 289 V8.   The color combination is great. we like the Blue over Blue Leather. nbsp;the hideaway lights work. and the sequential tail lights work.

The hideaways and sequential tail lights were an expensive option in there day.

What could be better than that???  Maybe if it came with Catherine Boch (she was the original Dazy Duke). yes we are dating ourselves.

The interior is in good condition. but the driver seat could use a recover. or simply drive it as is.   The bucket seats are comfortable and sporty. and the center console adds gives the car a “grand tourer” feel. The headliner and dash are in great shape. too.

Underneath. the car is in good condition with the exception of one spot on the floor that is an easy fix.   The floor pans are original. nbsp;the torque boxes are in very good condition. as is the frame and the inner and outer rockers.   The paint is good driver quality. simply drive and enjoy.

It’s a clean. fun example that you can drive as is. restore. or build into a mean. fire breathing pony car. With so many Mustangs and Camaros on the road. it’s nice to roll into cruise night in something a little unique!
