VSCC-eligible 1934 Austin 7 box saloon restoration project.

Great little project. probably one of the least expensive ways of getting into a car that - once finished - could be used for vintage car club trials. road runs etc.

A plaque on the dash advises that it was supplied by Woodyatt Motors Limited of Southend-on-Sea.

The car is registered and has a new-style V5C. MOT & tax exempt.

The engine turns over by hand. the head has been lifted so that inspection of the bores could be undertaken and they look fine. Various parts (eg starter motor. dynamo. distributor. head) look to have been overhauled. but I've not had the engine running to test it all out. The honeycomb radiator core is in good condition.

Underneath the car is very clean. the underside of the body looks sound and the chassis has been stripped and re-painted in primer. I've photographed these areas to try and show this. The floors in the main are solid. a few localised repairs are needed here and there but overall they're not too bad at all. In fact most of the body is very sound. door pillars are good. as are the doors. wings. gutters. running boards. screen assembly (opening) etc. Certainly well worth restoring.

The paint and interior are both tired and need re-doing.

Tyres are "Avon Car Triple Duty Mk2" and appear to be unused. still having the small rubber pips on the treads. The wheels too are in good order. An exhaust will need to be found although there is a downpipe. I'm sure there'll be other odds and ends that'll need sourcing. but 7s are well supported by specialists and numerous clubs. A replacement dash panel will be needed. Lots of small parts (brackets. linkages etc) are in the boxes of bits that come with the car (see photo). A couple of pieces of flat glass will need renewing (one rear side glass - just copy the one from the other side - plus the rear window which is with the car. but has a crack. so ok as a template).

Some parts (eg steering column. gearlever etc) need bolting back on. The steering mechanism is free and there's no damage to the mounting bracket where it fits to the chassis. the wheel too is very nice as are the advance and retard levers. The body sits squarely on the chassis but isn't yet fully bolted down.

It'll need collecting on a trailer or recovery truck. preferably one with a solid centre to it as Austin 7s are quite narrow. A winch will be necessary.

Collection and payment within 7 days of auction end please.

Bids from buyers in the UK and in Europe will be accepted. It is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange collection and cash payment within 7 days. regardless of whether they're from the UK or France. Germany etc.

Buyers with less than 20 feedback. or with a score of <90%. please contact me prior to bidding otherwise I reserve the right to cancel your bid.

££ British sterling payment on collection only please. no p/pal. cheques. part-ex etc. ££ British pounds in cash only.

A realistic reserve has been set. please bid what you think it's worth. If it gets close to reserve but doesn't quite get there. I may offer it to the high bidder at their top bid amount. Please bear in mind this is a restoration project. not a running car. and as such will need restoration before it can be used on the road. I've never had it running nor have I driven it. so no guarantees given or warranty implied. hopefully the photos and info above describe it sufficiently.

Until such time as the reserve is met. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Once met. the auction will run 'til the end.

Any questions please ask before bidding.

Thanks for looking.
