1968 Sunbeam Alpine GT.
Tax & MOT June 2014.
Indicated 52. 00 miles.
Runs and drives well. New stainless steel exhaust. I have only driven it around the block but it seems to go well enough. It has been standing a while so it would benefit from a service. Looks like it has recently had a replacement radiator.
Very solid underneath. boot floor etc. sound.
*Bodywork requires attention*. Car has had a poor respray at some time in its life and some body repairs that now need to be stripped back and redone properly. Worst areas are front wings. paint and filler flaking on the rear arches and where they blend into the sills. There is also some corrosion to the front valance. Given that it is so sound underneath I think that the work required is mostly cosmetic. and you have a good solid base to start from.
Interior is complete and in pretty good nick. Slight wear to drivers seat and there is a chrome garnish on the drivers door that needs replacing. It would benefit from a set of carpets although the current ones are serviceable.
Being a GT model there is no soft top as the hood would have compromised the back seat when folded down so they were supplied with a lift off hard top instead.
These cars are quite sought after now and would make a worthwhile winter restoration project. Could be used for the summer as is.
