OK. so heres the story of this unique MGBThis car has had just  2 owners from new. the first owner bought it in 1970 and used it as an occasional / 2nd car up until 1995 when it was beginning to look a little sorry for its self. During 1995 it was treated to a ground up nut and bolt restoration which I have a photo album of. The MG was then used sparingly up until 2008 when it was sold to its second owner who was quite an elderly gentleman. The second owner maintained the car mechanically to a very good standard but the body was showing signs of wear with scuffed wheel arches. shallow dents in both doors and front wings and some dents to the front valance.
I decided to purchase the car due to the fact that it was just 2 private owners and mechanically sound. I have treated the car to a bit of a facelift by replacing the rusty old "Rostyle"wheels for a nice set of shiny new two tone minilites finished in Graphite and silver. I have also treated the car to new front and rear Sebring valances which have been flush fitted and smoothed where necessary. I have also removed the bumpers front and rear and replaced the old perspex plates for the "stick on" Vintage style black and silver plates. The chrome bodyside mouldings have also been removed. The seats have been replaced with black PVC style sports seats. The old grill has been replaced for a new honeycombe style grill. The car has also been treated to a full respray in its original colour which I must say looks amazing. I have retained all of the original parts for the new owner. ie seats/bumpers/body mouldings/number plates.
The MG looks and drives superb. the gearbox is nice and smooth and the overdrive cuts in and out as it should. the oil pressure is superb and the engine appears to be free of any leaks. I have photographed the car today (5th FEB 2014) and have now taken it to the workshop to have a period style single chrome Lucas rear number plate light fitted.
