EQUIPMENT

EXTERIOR
The graceful and flowing lines of the Michelotti styled Triumph Stag are unmistakable. with this example being finished in factory specified Java Green (code 85). The paintwork showcases a deep glossy shine and uniform finish from this rare colour which suits the car immensely. The underside is structurally perfect with all panels completely free from corrosion and are straight with even gaps. All exterior brightwork is remarkable and the original badge work and decals are immaculate. An invoice in the history file documents a professional and expensive re-chrome on the bumpers which remain in pristine order. A specialist supplied new mohair hood in matching dark green has been fitted and is completely tight and free from discolouration. A fantastic example in wonderfully preserved original condition.

INTERIOR
The interior of this luxury grand-tourer is a testament to the care and devotion this car has enjoyed throughout its lifetime. The hard wearing extra wide seats are finished in black perforated expanded vinyl (code 11) and are in excellent order aside from a tiny section on the driver's seat where the seam has come unstitched slightly. The deep green carpets are spotless having been renewed in 2006. All interior functions and equipment operate faultlessly and the original walnut fascia with padded dash top is pristine. A discreet aftermarket immobiliser has been fitted and a beautiful Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original Triumph V8 powerplant of 2997cc displacement produces 146bhp and achieves a top speed of 118mph whilst completing 0-60 in 9. 3 seconds. The engine produces an intoxicating but unobtrusive deep burble through the twin stainless steel tailpipes and the strong power delivery is wonderfully smooth. The important Kenlowe electric fan has been fitted. The factory optional Borg-Warner three speed automatic transmission delivers reassuring and subtle changes throughout the range and offers prompt kick down upon command.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted 14in light alloy flat hump safety ledge rims are shod in matching 195/70R14 tyres with masses of tread remaining. The wheel rims are in pristine condition with absolutely no curbing scuffs or damage. and the black centre in-fills remain exactly as the manufacturer intended. The 270mm front discs brakes and 228mm self-adjusting rear drums benefit from direct-acting servo assistance and install ultimate confidence under all manner of driving.

HISTORY FILE
This remarkable example was first registered on 1st April 1976 and has covered a mere 79. 20 miles from new with just six owners. The previous owner purchased the car on 6th September 2008 and as chairman of a local classic car club has cherished the vehicle and undertaken fastidious maintenance and upkeep throughout his ownership whilst enjoying many classic car runs and shows.

A comprehensive history file comprises of many previous MOT certificates and specialist invoices. including receipts for the expensive new hood and carpet set. The original brown leatherette wallet houses the owners handbook and an original sales brochure accompanies this beautifully well-kept and original Stag. an example sure to delight the enthusiast.
