landrover series 2

Born on the 01/11/1958 is my much loved Beast!

Number 335 off the production line. family owned for the last 5 years and previously owned by a gentleman for 28 years!!                                                                                                                 This land rover is ex-military and has always kept that very look! the truck comes with its original registration number RBO 697 which is transferable and valued by reg transfers at £3000. 00.                I am selling the registration with the truck as it started life with it and it remains on it!                                                                                                                                                     She still has her original perkins diesel engine which was totally refurbished in the late 90's by Turner land rover.                                                                                                                                On the 15/11/12 the engine had further works. a full head rebuild. new injectors etc.                                                                                                                                                                      New master cylinders. brake and clutch. brakes overhauled. new brake lines. cylinders. shoes. new alternator before christmas and only 2 weeks ago a new starter motor.                              Suspension. pro comp shocks all round and parabolic springs. alot of the existing wiring was also replaced last year the list goes on and on.                                          

On the outside                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          A brand new canvas was fitted 6 months ago supplied by Exmoor trim. on the front a 13000 IB 12v wireless winch which i had fitted last year.                                                                                     CB aerial and clansman radio box with antenna.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     replacement free wheeling hubs and side exit exhaust. The neighbours love it! its loud and sounds awesome!

CB radio. Fairley overdrive. Smiths heater and it works!                                                                                                                                                                                             Roll bar to the back with incorporated high lift jack. spare wheel and Ammo box for Supplies!

The surgery to the front and rear wheel arches was carried out by the previous owner. who had them professionally done and edges rolled. to take the Massive and i mean Massive! 900 tyres on the original rims.  This is not a landrover for the purest BUT I THINK BETTER. my local landrover specialist fell in love when he saw her and was very impressed. I take her to shows and she always attracts alot of atention infact she attracts atention were ever i go!!! a real head turner.

She is my daily drive. every day. Starts on the button first time every time. everything works. lights. indicators. wipers. fairley over drive makes a huge diffrence.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     I had to battle hard to get this out of my brother. and parted with lots of cash! I am only doing this as my wife has finally sercombe to the idea of a rather large American V8!

I am looking for any pre 1970 American V8 pickup if you have one and are considering a change we maybe able to do some sort of exchange. i have already found what i am looking for but unfortunatly i cannot have both. so she needs to go first.  

I have set a realistic reserve. unfortunatly i cannot give her away. Pre 1960 landrovers running and driving which dont require any road tax nor MOT are becoming harder to find. She achieves about 26MPG which i think is good. i have tried to discribe her as best i can. she is by no means a concourse Landrover but a well sorted one which has never wanted for anything. I normally service her twice a year. and as already stated. never lets me down.                                                                               

 I will be happy to keep her if she doesent achieve what i want. this truck i feel at 56 years old will only go one way in value and thats up!
