Hi and welcome to my own ongoing clear-out of many years collecting.   All the stuff has been collected over many years. but time space and maybe even a little ‘common sense' prevails and at least some of it must go.

Original  TR8 Convertible 3. 9Litre manual for restoration. original factory V8 used by BL Cars Ltd.
It was built sometime around January 1980 with the VIN TPZDV8AT204*** which would have made it a Platinum LHD California spec. injected 3. 5L. manual gearbox. Convertible and was registered by BL cars Ltd. PO Box 41. Longbridge. on 21st August 1981. It has a full history file from new. with two sales invoices from 83 and 94 when it was sold for £11750 and £7000 respectively. It has had 10 former keepers (some being dealers) all documented. It has most Mots and tax discs from new. It has some photos from almost new along with a massive file of invoices documenting parts used and work done. I have owned it since 2001.
This very special car has not been treated as kindly as I would have liked during my ownership. however the work invested by previous owners has gone some way to protecting it. It does however now need work and I have insufficient time and space to do it.
Hence it's for sale ‘as is'.
It would have been around 18 months old at the time of registration so I can only presume that it must have been used by BL for some sort of development or testing work. No ‘heritage' built sheet exists for the car which I am told is normal for a car effectively built ‘off the production line' Over the years many TR8 experts have seen the car and all have confirmed that it is an original factory built V8.
Over the years it has been modified and improved. The original owner took it to Grinnall cars and had it converted to RHD with an original UK RHD TR8 steering rack which must be as rare as it gets. It has AP Racing vented 4 pot brakes that fit inside the original 13'' wheels. The rear axle is has a 3. 08 Ratio diff and limited slip differential. Extractor manifolds and stainless twin pipe system. The engine is a 3. 9 Litre unit that has been well modified. It runs on the ‘hotwire system'. Performance is superb and very tractable (I've been told it has TVR performance but I cannot validate this). The spec and bills for the car just go on!
As it stands today it has done 36071 miles but is in need of some restoration work. Unfortunately it has had to stand outside for some of its time with me. This has led to some corrosion around the edges of the floor particularly at the rear of the floor adjacent to the rear suspension anchorages. The fuel tank is also off the car. I have started to do the repair work but just do not have the time to complete it. I do not want it to be outside for another winter so have decided to sell it as it is.
The interior is stripped out of the car and stored inside. (Original blue check) It will need a new carpet set. It has a spare set of (painted) US spec bumpers in good condition that will go with it. It has a brand new quality black vinyl hood to replace the existing hood which is shot.
The car currently has some areas cut out in the floor and the ends of the sills. The wheel arches at the front and rear are good. The front inner wings have not been welded nor do they need any welding. The scuttle and windscreen surround are good. There are a few scabs on the body panel joints.
If you want a special TR and have the skill or funds to invest this car has great potential and should be a great investment.

The standard terms of sale are straightforward;

I am an enthusiast and anticipate selling to ‘like minded' people with a similar attitude. All the stuff is used; some is very used. and some not so much. So. for the avoidance of confusion about what you are buying. please remove any ‘rose tinted specs' before bidding!

I listed the car a few weeks ago and although there was a lot of interest it didn't sell. It greives me to see it deteriorate further so I have relisted it at a lower price.

My part of the deal:

We will do our best to be accurate in how we describe the item. We will do our best to answer any questions you may have. again as accurately as we can. We would urge you to view the item in person to satisfy yourself that it suits your needs. We accept that this may be impractical but that's your choice. We also insist that you collect the larger items in person. that way there can be no confusion. or misunderstanding. Courier collection maybe negotiable but only if this is agreed prior to the end of the sale. Payment will be by cash on collection (you bring the money when you collect) Smaller items we will post for the fees stated. Any problems; we will do our best to sort them out amicably and equitably.

Your part of the deal:

If you bid. you bid to buy. There will be no negotiation at the time of collection.

You will be expected to collect the item in person unless a postage fee is specified. You will be expected to contact us within 24 hours of the end of the sale and agree a convenient date for collection – we will fit in with most reasonable requests. We trust you will turn up. so we do not demand a deposit via Paypal or similar.

Sorry for the conditions but we've had a few ‘time wasters' in the past.

Thanks for looking
