1965 MG Midget Rotiserie Restoration for sale

        A complete rotisserie restoration was completed on this car in 2012. The body shell was media blasted then the following panels were replaced. Floors. Inner and outer sills. toe boards. left A post inner and outer. right A post lower section. outer halves of rear wheel arches. rear wheel openings. battery and heater shelf and the front valance panel.

        The cockpit. the underside and inside the trunk have had white Gravel Guard applied and painted body color.

        The inner panels were painted with a slightly darker shade of Old English white. providing a tasteful contrast. The exterior is od waterborne base with clear.

        The exterior trim is all new except for the door handles. The windshield frame was cleaned of the original finish and polished to reasonable luster. The windshield and drop glasses are new. the vent windows are originals.

          A complete new cloth bound wiring harness was fitted. The lenses are all new Lucas units. the plate lamp a reproduction. New rubber body seals. New door and trunk locks. New steering wheel with original horn push. The tires are Toyo Eclipse 155 80 13. including the spare. new hubcaps.

          As supported by the Heritage certificate this car has it's original engine. transmission and rear axel. The engine was properly rebuilt and carries all of it's own factory equipment including the starter. generator. distributor and carburetors all of course having been rebuilt. The radiator is the car's own and has been cleaned and pressure tested.

         The front and rear suspension have been rebuilt including new springs. shocks spindle bushings. rubber components etc. New tie rod ends. The brake system has had the same treatment including all lines. new calipers. wheel cylinders. drums and rotors. The master cylinder is original to the car and was rebuilt locally. Within three months of this car being painted there has developed a problem with the paint lifting in a few spots. There are two splits in the paint on the hood about two inches long each. I don't know what has caused this lifting issue. photos are available.

         A new clutch was fitted and the transmission was overhauled. New universal joints.

       The interior is all new including carpeting from Moss The seats and flat panels were upholstered by a local fellow specializing in British cars. The dash was media stripped and powder coated in the correct density of wrinkle finish. Looks great. The tach was repaired. the other instrument are in  good original condition.

       The convertible top is by the Acme Auto Headlining Co. of California. the tonneau is a Robbins unit. This well sorted car has received a top quality restoration with much attention to detail. Everything is as correct as I can make it right down to  the rubber boot on the headlight dimmer switch.

       This is a private sale. It is also an as is where is sale. This car is located near Vancouver B. C. I require a deposit of $500. 00 CDN within 24 hours of the close of the auction. When you come to collect your car bring Canadian cash with you.
