1977 LHD AMC Pacer 4.2 rear wheel drive Retro, Geek, Wayne's World

You are looking at a totally unusual find in the UK. and very rare even in the USA where they were made!
This is a 1977 AMC Pacer DL 4. 2 straight 6. It is rear wheel drive and left hand drive.
This car has been imported from Switzerland. All EU taxes have been paid and I am just waiting on a clearance certificate to register it in the UK.
It will be sold with a UK MOT (passed with nothing advised at the end of August 2013. only failed in lights). 6 months tax and on UK plates ready to legally drive away.
Although many people are familiar with the car from Wayne's World. Disney's Cars or other American films. not many people have actually ever even seen a Pacer in real life it seems.
I can remember seeing one as a child and thinking it epitomised everything hideous from American vehicle manufacturing in the 1970's. but with the Retro car scene it has become quite a symbol of the era.
One of the comments I got from a guy in a car park was:
"mate. that's really sick. respect!"

The car itself is just amazing condition. Whilst not mint. it is very clean and respectable.  
The running gear is excellent. Don't expect to get a speeding ticket though. it was America's answer to the fuel crisis. so a straight 6 Jeep engine has been totally strangled by a tiny carb and EGR valves and other odd looking fuel saving devices. I am sure with some modifications you could easily release a few BHP. but it is sold as a totally standard car.
The engine is good. it has just had a new ignition module. fuel pump and regulator. alternator and the lights converted to European spec.
The speedo reads in KMS. just over 102200kms. looking at the cars condition. this could well be a genuine 64000 miles!
The interior is the Navajo black. white and grey seats with side trims to match. The condition is excellent.
At some stage it has a respray. but there are no signs of any repaired corrosion or accident damage.

In short. this is an excellent example of an iconic car that would be great to show. to use for TV. or just keep as an investment.

There are a few small issues:
The back window heater doesn't seem to work. the guage on the dashboard to show what gear you are in is not working and the fuel guage is optimistic.
There are a few small areas of trim and detailing on the car that would improve it. but it is ready to be used and enjoyed.

Comes complete with handbook in German. MOT. and V5 will follow.

I have put Jeep as the make as there is no AMC listed on eBay!

I would consider a P/X Part Exchange for anything unusual. a modern diesel. a supercar ( I can add cash if needed!) but this must be done under eBay rules. you buy mine. I buy yours!
