1972 MGB GT Rolling Chassis. NO RESERVE

This car needs the following: seats. motor. transmission. brakes(all flexible tubing. master cylinder. front calibers. rear wheel cylinders). gas tank. interior. radiator.

This car includes 90% of the cosmetic items needed such as headlights. turn signals lens. and etc. please look at the picture that has a box of parts. It has all of the "Smith" gauges and NO cracks in the dash.

These MGB's are often converted to run with a GM or Ford 5 spd with a GM or Ford engine. Some had V8 engines from the factory. making them the lightest factory powered V8 car in mass production. Go the website "The MG Experience" for more info. You can get a transmission and engine cheap at "Parts Galore" in Detroit. MI

We purchased this vehicle with the intent of adding an electric motor for a local community college. Due to funding constraints and issues with the board of directors. we have decided to sell this vehicle as-is. I am the professor that was in charge of the project.

When we purchased the vehicle a month ago. we we told that the car was ready for transport. When we got there. it had 20 year old Michelin tires that we dry rotted and flat. Surprisingly the vehicle survived the trip to Michigan from western Ohio.

The following was done to triage this classic automobile: we purchased 4 quality used tires. we painted the rims with classic colors. made sure all of the wheels roll freely. pulled out the interior to diagnosis the condition of the floor boards. painted a light coat of oil based paint on all rusted. multi-colored. primered. or other wise exposed metal to stop any additional rust.

There are photos showing the worst rust areas which are the floor boards along the outside of the vehicle(while looking from the inside) and above the rear fender on the drivers side. One of the cross members needs to be welded and reinforced right under the drivers seat area. Otherwise the car is pretty solid.

This MGB GT rolling chassis is sold "AS IS"and I have a clear Ohio title signed by the previous owner that has matching numbers.

I can take off the front bumper and prepare the car for "Flat towing transport"- with all four wheels on the ground for $200 above the selling price. For an additional $200 deposit. I can supply a tow bar and chains along with tow lights. I will also pick you up at DTW-Detroit Metro Airport for FREE as it is 40 minutes from where the vehicle currently is. if you decide to rent a truck to tow it home.

I have restored a few of these classic cars and can fix the brakes before pick up for an additional fee paid in advance. My shop can restore the car as well but all transactions would be separate from the sale of this vehicle.

Bidders with less than 10 feedback must contact me or your bid will be cancelled.
