Thank you for looking at this all-original. numbers matching 1953 MG TD.   Our client has asked that we sell this 3 owner British icon.

 

This car has been sitting for the last 20 years without being driven.   As you can see from all the photos the car is complete with the top. side curtains. spare tire and tools.   The odometer reads 14. 00 but we cannot confirm if it its the actual mileage.

 

This car is a North American left hand driven car as indicated by the EXL/NA on the tag under the hood.   The XPAG-TD2 indicates it has the 8' clutch and the car has the bench seat back with the split driver passenger seat bottom.

 

When we received the car it was not running. we have flushed the gas. replaced the floats. rebuilt the carbs. installed a new battery. flushed the radiator and filled it. rebuilt the brake shoes. put in new spark plugs and custom made the plug wires and lubed the shifter.   The car will now run and drive but as the tires are 20 years old they will need to be replaced.

 

As you can see from all the photos there are some marks and damage to the fenders and the running boards. the frame has a dent and the floors are ok but could ultimately benefit from replacing.   The interior is complete.

 

This is what we know from the owner. the car was restored some 25 years ago and was driven for a few years after then parked. he said that the top is the original. the dash was refinished with the plate seen in the pictures. the seats and carpets were refinished. The side curtains and frames are in good shape and will install easily.   As you can see the car is in decent shape but could benefit from a restoration.

If you are the winning bidder a $500 nonrefundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction's close. All transactions must be completed within 7 days of the end of auction.

 

New Jersey residents will be required to pay sales tax at the time of delivery.   There is a $250 document fee for title and registration services which includes a 30 day in state temporary tag.

 

Out of state buyers will be billed a document fee if you wish to have a 20 day out of state temporary tag placed on the vehicle prior to delivery. You are responsible for all applicable taxes. title and licensing fees in your area.

 

We accept the following forms of payment. Visa. American Express. MasterCard & Discover card. certified bank checks. bank to bank wire transfers and cash in person at time of delivery. Personal checks are accepted but must clear before the car can be delivered. If the deposit is not received within twenty-forty hours (1 business day) or if the sale is not complete within 7 days of the close of the auction. we reserve the right to sell to the next highest bidder or to another qualified buyer. ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please be aware that you will be responsible for the Federal Reserve fee(s) charged for all incoming wires).

Once you place a bid you are entering into a legal binding contract and in doing so agree that if you are the winning bidder you will make all attempts to follow the rules and regulations as listed by the auction company to purchase the car.
