SELLER REMARKS

This brutal 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 was built for just one thing. and it sure wasn't getting groceries. It brings a stout big block. fantastic color combination. and a strong-arm attitude to the table. and as a result it's pretty hard to resist.


You just can't go wrong with basic black. as they did on this slick Chevelle. No distracting SS stripes. no blacked-out trim. just a great paint job that lets the quality do the talking. Despite being done in the early 2000s. it's still nice enough to see your reflection without distortions. and on a black car there's just no place for bad bodywork to hide. you either get it right or you start all over. Although it's been a few years. the paint on this car can still proudly compete at just about any show you find. The flat hood is a welcome relief from all the cowl-induction units you usually see and it helps this car keep a somewhat low profile on the street. Although we don't have a build sheet to prove authentic SS396 pedigree from the factory. it carries correct SS gear. including the blacked-out grille and badge on the rear valence. and you just know guys are going to spot the '396' emblems and know something's up. but that's OK. this car doesn't have to worry about much on the street. The chrome is nicely done and has the right shine for a car approaching its 45th birthday and the vivid red taillight lenses seem even brighter on a black car like this.


You'd expect a basic black bucket seat interior in this sinister SS. but and they went one better by covering the stock seats with black and red leather. It's a little (OK. a lot) flashier than the original stuff. but the horizontal stitching looks OEM and there's a matching red bowtie emblem on the front seat backs. There's no center console. but on a car built for combat it's just dead weight. and once people see that Hurst cue ball sticking out of the transmission tunnel. they know this car is serious about performance. The original gauges have been augmented by a trio of Auto Meter auxiliary gauges underneath. and the dash pad is in excellent shape. An AM/FM radio with digital tuning slots neatly into the original radio's location and uses period-looking knobs to complete the illusion. The trunk is a bit nicer than stock. with full carpeting throughout that also helps control noise. making this SS a fine long-distance cruiser. too.


The big block under the hood has been rebuilt and punched out to 402 cubes along with a few extras to deliver an estimated 480 horsepower punch when you nail the throttle. If you can touch it. it's probably new. from the 4-barrel carburetor and aluminum intake. to the new distributor and MSD ignition. all of which have less than 3500 miles on them. A few splashes of chrome like the valve covers. air filter. and water pump neck give you something to look at whenever you pop the hood. and you can tell they spent extra time to get everything arranged just so to look its best. Underneath. it's very clean. with a slick-shifting 4-speed gearbox driving a 12-bolt rear. a fresh gas tank. and recent shocks all around. The exhaust system features long-tube headers. huge pipes. and Flowmaster mufflers for a great sound. and it rolls on classic chrome Rallys with 225/70/15 BFGoodrich radials.

TERMS OF SALE  

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.

11. Streetside Classic Cars bears no liability and shall be held harmless for any complications. expenses. or damages resulting from a failure to meet these terms as they have been set forth and established herein.

12. An additional documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale.
