Thank you for looking at my 1969 Mercury Marquis 2 door coupe. It is powered by a 320hp 429ci V8 with 2 barrel carb. mated to a C6 3 speed auto gearbox.

Looking at the original window sticker. it was sold by Northside Mercury after being assembled in St. Louis for $4995.

The mileage shows just under 30. 00. Whilst I don't have any service records to verify this. the condition of the car backs this up.

It's one of the most original. unmolested pillarless coupes you will find. It has. however. had new tyres and shock absorbers fitted when it was back in America.

When you open the door and climb into the original. superb dry interior. one of the first things you'll notice is that all the interior lights work. The dash lights also work perfectly. The carpet isn't worn anywhere and there are no splits in the upholstery at all. Open the glove box and the light comes on and in the glove box you'll find the owners manual.

Turn the ignition key and the big 429 fires into life.   The 320 horse power unit idles whisper quiet.  The car has the ‘whisper-Aire Conditioner' and the heater and blower work perfectly.

Turn the original programmable AM radio on and the sound that only old radios emit. pours out of the original speakers. Engaging drive on the column change make the footbrake automatically release and you effortlessly drive this beauty along the road.

The optional power steering is feather light and effort less. The power disc brakes. which are listed as an option on the window sticker. stop the car efficiently and safely in a straight line.

The bodywork is rust free. No filler. No welding. just original metal.

The boot floor is rust free and still has the cardboard covers that go over the rear light clusters and the paint on the sheet metal. The boot lid light comes on when it's opened too as well as the spare wheel and jack.

The Marquis has hidden headlights behind vacuum operated light doors. These work perfectly when the headlights are switched on.

Being 45 years old. there are one or two small dents and scratches to be expected which just add character to it. The stainless trim is 100% complete and in excellent condition

It's a fresh import with all duties paid and has a mot until October 2014 so just needs to be registered which is an easy process. The form will be supplied. It will. of course. cost nothing for the road tax.

If you want something different that will drive anywhere. turn heads and be the talking point wherever you park it. this is it. If you want a car that you always have to work on instead of driving then look elsewhere. This isn't it.

I'm sure I have left some details out and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

If ebay would allow swaps or part exchange I would probably consider any offers

Open to cash offers.

Hi there, your car is so beautiful!

classics catch my eye. Especially with the 70s American cars!

I have a question regards to this car. How much would the insurance be for someone in their early 20s be? Like a rough figure. £5-7500??

im thinking of buying this car but i must consider first.

Thanks!

Anakin
