Back ground to the car :

Originally supplied by Dutton Forshaw. edford . /span>

The first owner JFitzgerald (builders) Wolverton Bedford

The car then went through 4 more keepers before it was sold to it's previous owner in 1981. e then owned the vehicle 27 years before sale to its last keeper.

During the ownership of the last two keepers the have covered just over 1000 miles a year (in fact since in the last 20 years just 4000 mls! )

Most of the bills are in the last 33 years and show the amount of care spent on the vehicle.

 So condition of the car.

I will be as critical as I can . /span>

Bodywork:

The Bodywork is in  lovely condition with no discernible issues that require attention . he bonnet inner structure is excellent likewise the screen surround “A” Pillar /B slam panels/sill sections/valances.

Paintwork:

The Magenta paintwork is excellent with good depth of shine. he colour really does suit the car”

Interior:

The leather is carrying just the right amount of patina to suit the age of the vehicle. the door cards . dash panels . rash pad all good.

Drive Train:

As mentioned above. he engine was replaced after a fan failure caused overheating damage to the original unit . suffice to say the engine is excellent . ery quiet valve gear . ood compression. does not burn oil . /span>

The engine has also had detailing carried out to the inlet manifolds. cambox covers filter boxes etc all powder coated. /span>

The ignition system has been updated to  Opus” electronic . ecent replacement twin kenlowe fans.

Now and again I get a slight oil weep from the n/s cam box cover . ut it is very tiny . will endeavour to get a new gasket prior to sale.

Transmission:

The Borg Warner automatic  unit is smooth in operation  and entirely suit to the big V12's torque

Final Drive:

No wind up or suspicious noises”

Brakes:

The car pulls up true and with good retardation .

Wheels /Tyres

Fitted with period Dunlop sp” ER 70 /15 al-round on Jaguar chrome 6jx15 wheels

The car also has  a stunning set of totally refurbished 72 spoke wires/spinners plus there is the rear splined hub adaptors.

Electrical:

At the time of writing  the only thing not working as per specification . the heater fan that that is a bit hit or miss”  tachometer “ since the ignition upgrade needs a distributor  impulse  trigger unit to send signal to the tachometer

Brightwork:

Nice original fittings with some pitting to the bumpers (as you would expect for some 40 years ) but carrying good shine.

On The Road:

Jaguars original trans” continental express and this particular car has done just that! In her earlier life having been to Germany and back.

Now used on high days and holidays. he car has such presence and always gets admiring comments . ith that iconic view from the driver's seat across the bonnet that seems to stretch into infinity”

It is so smooth with that almost turbine like sound from the big v12 and muted exhaust note emanating from the fan tail 4 exhausts. span >  recently on a 120 mile journey across motorway and country roads dealt with aplomb the road conditions . ut do bear in mind ‘ it is low .

Conclusion:

The Jaguar E type has now become the collectors icon it was always quite rightly intended to be . /span>

Here is a chance to own  a very good UK car with good provenance at ‘No Reserve”  if looked after' the blue chip investment status is assured . lus you have the bonus of driving what in my humble opinion  one of the most magnificent things on 4 wheels

THE JAGUAR E TYPE!

Many Thanks for looking and all the very best with your bid!

Please note: the cars I sell are “classic” cars and by nature and age are not of the reliability that is  afforded to a modern car (apologies to the classic car enthusiasts for stating the obvious)

Do not expect the car to accommodate you like a modern Mondeo etc. it is 41 years old and comes from a time when you had to drive the car not the other way  around”

It sold as a collctors item and due to it's age not intended for everyday transport

With all the best will in the world  whilst I would love then to stay totally reliable. but being old (like myself! )They can breakdown and you should be aware of this. if you have any doubt about classic car ownership or any of these facts kindly refrain from placing a bid on the car.

The car is as usual being sold with “No” Reserve !

Please Remember You Bid to Buy Not to Haggle.

Please note”

The description of the vehicle is from my eyes and my opinion. am only human ( I think” ) and could miss something that you might pick up. you are warmly encouraged to view and inspect the car prior to bidding yourself . I will do my utmost to accommodate you. once the auction has finished and if you are the winning bidder. you will be expected to conclude the transaction after being given this opportunity to inspect before the auction concludes. Please do not hesitate to call on : 07970383375 to arrange a viewing.

If the winning bidder is not UK Mainland based. it would be possible to deliver the car to a embarkation destination of their choice. once payment is received and the appropriate delivery tariffs have been met. it would be up to the winning bidder to organise the necessary on-going transportation and paperwork.

Please note! With two previous bidders who have had successful bids on other classics I have sold and have been European mainland based. they did not complete the sale quoting. they did not realise the logistics for transportation to the European mainland

Please. Please. Please!

If you are based on the European Mainland and you are going to bid on the car. please make sure you have the means to transport to the European mainland. also please make sure before you bid. that if you intend to road use the vehicle it can be registered in your country.

Seller's payment instructions

Payment and collection within seven days (unless by prior arrangement )

The payment will be either Sterling. Bank transfer (CHAPS) Cheque.

Delivery is available throughout the UK and to ports of embarkation only. his is via Wye Bridge Motors of Hereford they are experts in Classic Car Transportation and have a “bed off” transporter especially designed to take the lowest classic.

If you require a quote for terms and tariffs to your destination please do not hesitate to email or call me :07970383375

If you require additional pictures. please do not hesitate to email.

Now for the boring bits. I only sell good quality classic cars and describe the cars as accurately as I can and sell with honesty and integrity (please read my feedback) I have had on now 15! Occasions individuals being the successful bidders on cars and not fulfilling the auction terms (no contact after placing the winning bid ) so wasting my time and stopping a genuine person getting the car. nbsp;

I am also sad to say had an individual who decided after winning the car thinking he could try and force me to sell the car for less intimating placing negative feedback!

I would be grateful if you could call Me on: 07970383375 or email before you bid to confirm your intentions are bona fide .

Many thanks for your understanding.

Dave.
