About the 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe:

The newly designed 41 Cadillac had a low sleek body. curved rear window and a slanted windshield.   One of Cadillacs most important contributions was its compact powerful 346 cubic inch 150hp V-8 engine. New for Cadillac was the se of the optional fully shiftless Hydra-Matic transmission originally developed by Oldsmobile.   Production of the V-8 continued throughout the war and was used widely to power tanks and other vehicles. But even as war production ramped up Cadillac consolidated its place as Americas premier luxury marque with luxurious reliable sensuously designed cars like this 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe which featured a more complex egg crate grill. larger taillights that concealed the fuel filler.   As World War II approached Cadillac along with the rest of Americas automobile industry turned increasingly to war-related production.

Condition:

This Cadillac is finished in a cream exterior with camel cloth upholstery inside.   It is an extremely straight car with a professional quality paint job that appears a few years old but extremely nice.   I would rival any other against this ones body as it is amazingly clean and straight. She goes down the road great and is a blast to drive. we have had it on the highway at 60 mph and it drives like a stock 1941 car should.  It has a brown dash and wood-grained burl pattern window surrounds.   Interior brightwork remains in good condition and appears to have been re-chromed in the past.   The tan interior is solid but an older resto.   There are some stains on the headliner in the rear.   The trunk is complete with a spare wheel and tire and houses the matching fender skirts.   The exterior brightwork is the area that shows the most age; part of the chrome on the bumpers is no longer there and some of the accent pieces have a quite a bit of pitting.   Although. many pieces are in good condition. some will need attention to make it a show car. Take a look at the pictures and ask any questions as to me the car has great character as it sits.   Again the interior trim work is in good shape.   The under carriage is in really good shape for its age. when they did the restoration you can see that they replaced the trunk floor and two small spots in the floors right behind the front wheels. There is also two cut outs on the x frame which appear were used to run dual exhaust at one point.  It resided some of its life in Nevada as the vintage license plate (41 CAD)shows. then built for Mr. & Mrs Padilla in Victoria . Texas by Classic Restorations.

Engine/Trans:  Very original driveline that has been freshened at some point in its life.   You can tell by the detail work under the hood.   We keep her on a trickle charger when not being driven and she starts every time after sitting for a few weeks.   Runs and drives through town and even on the highways.   We have had her up to 60 mph and she cruises just fine.   Original style brakes that stop well and don't pull to one side or the other.   Rare automatic that shifts like it should.   Truly a solid 41 that hasn't been modernized.  I am not an expert on these Cadillacs. I just love the body line of these coupes and enjoy cruising an original like this around.  Please call with any questions or if your in the neighborhood call for an appointment to see it for yourself.
