1965 Ford Mustang Convertible (C Code 289)

Automatic Trans

Power Top

Fully Restored 6 years ago.

Hi and thanks for looking! Up for sale is a 65 Mustang 289 C code Convertible that was extensively restored about 6 or so years ago. The car is arrow straight. appears to have little to no filler in the body as evidenced by a clean pinchweld and excellent door seams. as well as the spot welds are clearly visible on the bottom of the quarter panels. The paint is a very nice high quality base/clear with very nice layout of the rally stripe along the side. The inner wheel wells feel great with no bondo being evident around the inner lip of the wheel houses. The chrome and brightwork on the car is all new at the time of restoration. The fit and finish is excellent. The convertible top is power and is flawless as well. and works at the touch of a button. The engine appears to be a correct 289 however I have not run any numbers off of the block so I can't be sure. What I can be sure is the motor and trans are freshly rebuilt because you can clearly see this in the restoration album. I will post those pictures as well. The interior is in beautiful shape as well. and was completely restored at the time of restoration. The owner GT cloned this car. as it has many GT options. The car has a power top. power steering and manual brakes which stop well. The paint is almost flawless. with a chip the size of a dime that was touched up on the quarter panel where one of the cars trophys fell off a shelf and nicked the car. The tires on the car look like they have less than 500 miles on them. The front and rear suspensions all appear to have been rebuilt at the time of restoration. The stereo was upgraded with a small amplifier and aftermarket speakers. The dash was not cut.

I purchased this car to settle a estate and it was hard to procure any type of history on the car. nbsp;other than it was lovingly restored and cared for at no expense spared.  I added pictures from the restoration album and you can see the car was extensively restored. I have only driven the car around the block insofar as the weather is really bad here in Chicago and I do not want to expose it to the weather. I have. however let the car sit and run for a hour in my garage with no overheating issues. All lights. signals appear to work fine. The only defects on the car that I can see are the small chip on the drivers rear quarter panel and the drivers quarter window has some sort of issue with the track. but should be an easy fix.

Use your best judgement and look at the pictures closely. this is a very nice car that would be a great summer cruiser for someone who wants to get into a show quality Mustang 65' at a reasonable price. The car won a bunch of first and second place trophies when it was shown up to a few years ago.
