Here I have for sale my Mk2 Austin Cooper S. I have owned this car for about 5 years and now it is time to find it a new home.
First registered in October 1969 this car has had 7 previous owners and is presented in Snowberry white with black roof. a colour combination that suits the mark to a tee.
During its lifetime it has had many modifications. some good and some not so good!
The vehicle was also known to have been raced at some time in its life which is when the engine mods were believed to have been made.
It is my opinion. that the shell is not the original. although if not cooper s a cooper shell has been used as boot board brackets etc are present and correct.  I have a picture in a book of the car in the late 70's with wood and picket style electric windows and other mods. which have long since disappeared.
The body itself is structurally very good but the paintwork though acceptable is far from perfect. There is micro blistering on the bonnet and several areas of cracked paint. The car is believed to have been restored in about 1990 when the body swap may have occured (i have photo's  of rebuild and colour change. was two tone brown and gold) The doors. sills. boot etc are all sound.
The interior is generally very good. the front seats have been replaced with period 'Huntsman' sport seats which need local repair to side bolsters. Rear seats are original black vinyl.
The roof has been fitted with a 70's style sunroof (not particularly to my liking) but in keeping with the car.
The engine is excellent and pulls smoothly through all gears. I had it tested on a rolling road and produced 67 bhp at the wheels equating to approx 90bhp at  flywheel.
Alloy wheels are all excellent condition (aftermarket) with good tyres all round.
In summary this is a very solid and sought after model which with a bit of TLC would make a great show car or can be enjoyed as it is.
Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions and i will be happy for any inspection. Scammers need not enquire though genuine overseas enquiries will be considered.
Please note; The vehicle goes nowhere before cleared funds are received.
Thankyou for taking the time to read my ramblings
Please note: This is my personal vehicle and is a private listing.
