 "In 1984 at the same time the remodelled watercooled Westfalia Joker was released (with beige furniture) a new higher spec model called the Westfalia Club Joker was added to the range. Available in both Club Joker 1 (Pop Top) and Club Joker 3 (High Top) versions this model also had beige furniture with brown edging. Initially the Club Joker upholstery was a brown material and it had a slightly different layout inside than the Joker with an L-shaped round rear seating arrangement. In 1986 the upholstery and layout changed again to the more standard rear seating arrangement as seen in the Joker. "
1) Combination cupboard 87 cm wide x 45 cm deep on the left behind the drivers seat with sink. two flame cooker with splash plate. The splash plate folds down and can be used to drain dishes after washing. Also the unit has a cutlery draw. a large cupboard for tableware and the fridge. The VW Westfalia Club Joker 1 layout consisted of: 2) Cupboard unit with integrated freshwater tank.
3) Wardrobe and storage unit over the engine bay.
4) Roof locker below roof bed.
5) Cushion 120 cm wide over the engine bay.
6) 3/4 width rock n roll bed for 2 persons (bed is 188 cm x 120 cm when folded out) with bedding storage area under seat.
7) Rear table on swinging arm (80 cm x 40 cm) with dark brown surface finish and dark brown edging trim.
8) Front table on swinging arm (60 cm x 40 cm) with dark brown surface finish and dark brown edging trim. Insulation
Insulated on all inner bodywork in the living area with 25 mm thick mineral fibre plates. Floor area has a plywood sheet with PVC covering. Over the engine bay there is an insulating noise absorbing mat. The side walls and roof panels are made from dark brown and lighter imitation leather. In some panels there is a padding of matching “Saiga” material.
Windows and Curtains
Both the Club Joker 1  (Pop Top) and Club Joker 3 (High Top) had 5 tinted and double glazed windows in rear living area. The window above the cooker opens.
High quality cotton curtains all round including drivers cabin area. The curtains for the sliding door and front windscreen were clipped on when required.
Electrical
220 Volt external hook up with internal outlet socket and safety trip cut out.
63 Amp leisure battery with split charge relay and automatic battery charger.
Three transistor lights (changed to LED) 12 Volts 8 Watt (two under the storage channel on the left over the kitchen channel and one over the sliding door. )
Freshwater and Wastewater
55 Litre Freshwater tank with electric pump and lockable cap.
20 litre waste water tank under the vehicle.
Gas Equipment
External underbody 8kg LPG tank with Eis-ex (gas preheater for extreme cold temperature use) and 3 tap control.
Kitchen

Living Area
All furniture is five sheet laminated and 15 mm thick plywood with a beige PVC coating and brown PVC edging. The upholstery is beige brown velour material. The seat rear and side surfaces are imitation leather.
Rock N Roll Seat / Bed for 2 people in the rear with 120 cm wide upholstered cushion over the engine bay.
Fridge
42 litre fridge working from 12v. 220v and gas.

I found this van in an impound lot in Germany. four years ago. and I have done a LOT of rebuilding! This van has double-paned polycarbonate windows (sides and rear). 15" alloy wheels (205/70r15). Go Westy Three Window Tent (http://ranchotransaxles. com/vw-transaxles. html). via an RJES Bell Housing (http://www. rjes. com/). and connected with a  Tom Shelds custom wiring harness to the VIN-matched computer. The engine itself is from a 2002 Subaru Outback Legacy.  Since the van is a EURO-spec model. the electrical (shore) system is 220v/ 16A. I have a voltage transformer to provide correct voltage. Power is supplied to the two on-board batteries via a Westfalia power inverter. This means when hooked to shore power. both batteries are being charged. *NOTE: The power outlet in the corner puts out 220 volts! There is also a 700 watt power inverter mounted behind the drivers seat.  
Also included in this auction is ALL files and programs on this van. This is Dealership level eBooks on the Subaru motor. wiring diagrams. fridge information and everything else I could find on this van. PLEASE BEAR IN MIND:We have been living in this van for two years. and it has taken us ALL THE WAY AROUND NORTH AMERICA. Domo is a VERY reliable van!
