1974 JAGUAR E TYPE SERIES III V12 ROADSTER

CCA 47M was manufactured on the 4th March 1974 and supplied new by British Leyland. New York. This manual transmission E-Type V12 Roadster left the factory in Turquoise with Black upholstery and today is still in its original factory colours. The car was imported from the United States in 1990 and converted to right hand drive. In 1996 the Jaguar sold to a West Yorkshire Doctor with a mileage of 42000 which was warranted by the supplier. The Doctor owned the car for 12 years and during his ownership the car was maintained by a Yorkshire classic car specialist. Over the 12 year ownership period the E-Type covered 6500 miles. only spending one year off the road in 2008.

In 2009 we sold the E-Type to a regular customer. also based in West Yorkshire. At this point the car was put through recommissioning work to include removing the rear axle and replacing brake callipers. brake pads. handbrake pads and subframe mountings. Further work included a new steering rack. brake servo and overhauled starter motor. This expenditure totalled £2500 and the car was then used throughout the summer of 2009 covering 2000 miles. This was the owners first E-Type experience and after an enjoyable year of ownership. the V12 came back to us in part exchange for a Series One E-Type Roadster. The car returned with a recorded mileage of 50. 00 miles.

In 2010 we sold the E-Type to a customer based near Skipton. Over the past three years the car has been used on a regular basis and has covered over 5000 miles. The previous owner has enjoyed working on further improvements and has spent in the region of £5500 on parts alone. Improvements and upgrades include an alloy radiator. new electronic fuel pump. rear coil over shock absorbers. front Gaz coil over shock absorbers. replacement radius arm bushes. new wheel bearings. distributor conversion kit. carburettor rebuild kit. new upper ball joints. new exhaust manifold studs. new exhaust mountings. new petrol tank mounting bush and petrol tank sump. new tyres. new alternator and many more detailed. subtle improvements that has made this car a truly outstanding example to drive.  

CCA 47M is a wonderful car ideal for regular use and long distance touring. In the previous weeks to arriving with us. the last owner drove the car to us on at least three occasions. It is on the button. reliable and fantastic to drive. The performance is outstanding and the engine performs perfectly with high oil pressure. The engine is smooth. quiet and has no knocks. rattles or smoking. It pulls strongly through the gears with excellent acceleration and power. The gearbox is perfect. the steering precise and the handling first class and certainly benefitting from recent suspension upgrades. This is an E-Type that should be driven with confidence and is the ultimate in terms of a V12 driving experience.  

The body and underside of the vehicle is incredibly straight. The underbody is rock solid and the car presents well with superb paintwork. The bodywork and paint finish are of a very high standard and are nicely complimented by good. bright chrome work and a smart set of chrome wire wheels. The interior is very tidy with lovely black leather seats. good quality carpets and an excellent dashboard with clean. working gauges. The mohair hood is in very good condition and the engine bay. boot and spare wheel footwell are in nicely presented condition.

This is an excellent opportunity to purchase an extremely well prepared E-Type. It has superb recent maintenance records. it drives to the highest of standards and it presents beautifully. It is also pleasing to see the car has been kept in its original colours and it does have a very original feel to it. The expenditure has been in the right places and it drives and feels like an honest. low mileage and original car. This is the ideal drivers car and it is ready for long distance touring.
